Publisher's summary

From the New York Times and Usa Today best-selling author Addison Moore comes a new adult romance.

This book includes sexual situations and is for mature audiences.

Baya Brighton is looking forward to her first year at Whitney Briggs University, new friends, dorm life, and finally being close to her brother again. Love is the last thing on the list, but when Baya meets her brother's roommate, she begins to have thoughts and feelings that even make her blush. Bryson Edwards has a secret he prefers buried in the past and long forgotten. He keeps himself busy with the important things: loose girls, fast cars, and long nights working at the string of bars his family owns. When his roommate's sister shows up on the scene, she's far too innocent and sweet for him, but he can't shake Baya out of his mind, and worse, it looks like she's seeping into his heart as well. Baya seems determined to show her brother she's not a little kid and equally determined to use Bryson's body to prove her point. It's been made pretty clear that Baya is off limits to Bryson, but their undeniable sparks explode into a whole lot more than just a few 3:00 a.m. kisses.

Good narrator

I liked this book enough to give it four stars. It's really more for the young adult audience. If I were in that group I would probably give it five stars. Loved the narrator.

Good start to a long series of standalone novels!

3.5 stars overall!

I enjoyed Baya and Bryson’s college romance, and I liked the audiobook performance a lot.

I did a dual audiobook and e-book read, and I mistakenly thought I had the entire series collected in dual formats. But I think I confused this series with one of her others because I see now that only 2 more books are available in audiobook format. That's a shame because I'm primarily an audiobook reader and read much faster in that format than any other.

I'm on the fence now about continuing the series this year because judging by the release dates of the next 2 available audiobooks, future audiobooks may not be forthcoming any time soon. I know I have at least 12 of the standalone e-books already collected, but my enthusiasm for finishing this series in 2018 has diminished knowing that I can't read the entire series via audiobook format.

Great narration ... so so book.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Not really. I couldn't get over the sophmoric writing. The phrases and descriptions of body parts were down right laughable. At one point Bryson was extending his 'olive branch' as a peace offering. Uh, just no!

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

There was a seed of plot that could be expanded on if the author would cut out about 3/4 of the cliches and work on building the story line that doesn't include sex.

Which character – as performed by Caitlin Kelly – was your favorite?

I liked Baya the best. Ms. Kelly is a good narrator that is able to give each character their own voice and can draw you into the story. Unfortunately this was a great story so it took me a little bit longer to get involved.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. I had trouble finishing it over a few days. I just didn't want to go back to it but I did so I could write this honest review.

Any additional comments?

exceptional story by Addison Moore

I absolutely loved this book. This was my first Addison Moore book and I am beyond happy with it. I am definitely one clicking the rest.

Baya is a rare breed of girl these days
She is a freshman in college and still a virgin. She comes to campus and searches for her older brother Cole. While searching for him, she runs into Bryson. Bryson is a knockout. He's drop dead gorgeous and a total womanizer. He also just happens to be Cole's roomate. Baya soon learns that her brother and his roommate are man whores. They actually keep count with notches in the wall of their conquests.

Baya makes Bryson feel for the first time in a very long time. He suddenly wants to end his manwhore ways and settle down with a girl completely off limits. If Cole finds out what Bryson and Baya are up to, all bets are off. Trouble is brewing.

This is a wonderful story that fills you with hope, makes you laugh out loud, and will leave you hoping for more. I am so glad I read this book. It was very refreshing.

This was also the best audio version of any book that I have ever listened to, and I have listened to many many books.

Interesting enough to keep me listening!

I enjoyed listening to this audiobook as I felt it was a light hearted romance although there were some tough situations thrown in. Some things did not make sense such as why would a man leave his two twenty something sons run a bar? Let's not forget one of them was in college full time all the while maintaining an internship with a marketing company. I'm thinking he was stretched too thin to start a relationship. Also, I believe the hero and heroines brother were seniors in college yet they were planning out roommates for the next year. Huh?
The details may have been a bit confusing but the dialogue was hilarious! I did laugh aloud a couple of times from the off the wall stuff that the heroine would say or think and his alone makes it worth listening to. I've read a lot of witty books and been around teenagers, but some of this stuff is worth repeating.
The narrator, also, was excellent. I will be interested in the next book in this series.

So Much More Fun Than Usual

I adored this book! I usually go for something with a bit more "grit", but I'm so glad I gave this book a listen. It didn't take long to realize that this author wasn't just going to give me the same old thing: innocent girl meets bad boy... bad boy changes his ways... love... HEA... Don't get me wrong, all of those things were there (along with a few plot twists I wasn't prepared for), but my favorite part of this book, the part that had me listening in marathon sessions whenever I could and literally giggling out loud, was how creatively the author wrote Baya's innocent thoughts. There were no "quivering members" or "delicate flowers", instead there were so many clever euphemisms that I honestly couldn't wait to hear what she came up with next. On top of that, it was seamlessly written into the story and just totally worked. I loved hearing most of the story from the POV of a spunky, witty, strong female main character- the kind that can still throw a little sass, even while her knees are weak... The steamy scenes weren't over powering, but the author did such a great job with the flow of this book, that I was worked up right along with Baya and Bryson.

This audiobook was provided by the author at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast. Even though I received this book for free, I would not have regretted paying for this one at all. In fact, I've already started listening to my next book by Ms. Moore and see her quickly becoming a must listen for me.

[This audiobook was well narrated with quality production - NOT in a wind tunnel, NOT awkwardly spliced with repeating phrases, NOT w the background noise of your high school during class changes]

overall great

I thought the narration was good. I do wish they would have had a guy narrator for the chapters of the male lead.

Goid but Not Great

The storyline was good. I'm giving credit where it is due. But, for the life of me I have to ask: Why is Baya so naive? I get that she wants to fit in, everyone does. But there have been many persons in her position and they weren't as desperate as she was presented in this novel. If she wanted a life of luxury for the tenure of her college stay, then all she needed to have done was swallow her pride and be mature about it. Geez, girls with such shallow minds annoy me to no end.

And not to mention her brother. If there was a prize for being the worse example to live by, he would be it. He is such a hypocrite.

Anyway, I'm happy that Baya and Bryson got their shot at love and that he was able to "take her under his wing", because she definitely needs the guidance, for what it's worth.

I'm sorry, but what an awful book

I'm sorry, but what an awful book. I have several complaints about the writing, but I will narrow it down to the top three biggest reasons to not read this book:

1 - There is no story. Like at all. There are the small conflicts between characters that, except for one involving the bitch Aubree, are barely even conflicts. More like small drama bombs when griefing is turned off. Remove every reference to sex, genitals, and hot bodies and you are left with perhaps one chapter near the end of the book.

2 - The characters are completely unbelievable. I've been to university. Guess what. Not every young person that attends thinks about sex 24/7 or is having sex every few hours. You know what is happening? Studying, going to class, socializing. Things that never seem to happen in this book. Our naive virgin immediately wants to jump into bed with the first hot guy, even after slut-shaming every girl she meets. There is some "mystery" about what happened to Stephanie, but by the time I dragged myself through this story I just couldn't give a crap.

3 - The writing is awful. I think I now have about 100 new phrases for sex and genitals. I've never read a book that personifies genitals to such a high degree. Vaginas don't have knees and balls don't weep. I think something readers might forget is that this entire story takes place between the first day of class (sometime in late August, most likely) and Thanksgiving. That's about three and a half months. That's it. And not once do we read about Baya attending classes or doing any actual studying. I don't know how any of them managed to stay in school considering their entire day is taken up with sex and thinking about sex.

The one good thing about this book has nothing to do with Moore and her story. Caitlin Kelly narrates the audio version and for that reason alone this book gets three stars instead of one. Her vocal choices for each character is en pointe. Baya's voice sounds young and has a hint of up-speak. She sounds naive when she talks about sex. Bryson and Cole might not have distinctly male voices, but they do sound sultry. And they must have smooth, sultry voices to have triple digits(!!) notches in their door frames.
