Publisher's summary

That's me - Tingly Simmons - athlete, foreign-language major, professor lover, obsessed idiot girl. Definitely not a frat rat or sorority slut. I've never ever played beer pong.

I ditched the vapid, soulless high-society life of Los Angeles for the promise of something more meaningful in rural Ohio. Accepting a track scholarship for college, I tried running my way to happiness, but instead I ended up sleeping with my French professor and falling head over heels for him.

When that relationship fell apart so did I.

Barely hanging on by a thread and using the most absurd coping skills, I was determined to hide behind my past indiscretions. That was, until I met Tiberius Jones.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd learn the truth about love from a six-foot-five basketball player.

Love times two!!

I loved this book when it came out and I love it even more listening to it on audio. The narrator did a really good job bringing the characters to life for me. This is one I will listen to over and over.

Easy listen

Great story, kept my interest. Wanted to listen to see what happened in the end. Sweet love story. Narrator was enjoyable. I hope that more of Rachel Blaufeld books make it to audible.

So thankful for audio😍 I loved this book

Loved every moment of Verite ! Tiberius and Tingly were an awesome pair! The narrator did such an amazing job and it really brought the story together so well. Tingly thought she wasn't worthy of love bit Ti definitely made her see that was not true at all.

Fantasy for sure

Good type of fantasy. It does have a lot of reality and it shows that you can’t judge a book by its cover kind of. Lol. I liked it a lot. She was frustrating but I can understand the issues due to her parents. Thanks for the story

Vérité: Love at Center Court

What did you like best about this story?

I loved Tiberius !

He was a great hero. He perused Tingly from the start, and just a conquest, he was interested in a true relationship with her.

He always stood by Tingly .

He never let her past derail him from his goal of having her.

Tingly was the jaded un trusting one in the relationship and liked that. She had to learn to trust him and his feelings for her.

He apologized when necessary, he didn't let his friends get away with anything. He acted like any true man should act.

People accuse Romance of setting un reasonable expectations, I don't see it that way. I think most people are decent and should act like him. Tiberius should be the norm.

I enjoyed Tingly's character. Yes she was thought, but she had to be. She made mistakes in the past, but she was the one who had to forgive herself and move on.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes.

I loved the chemistry and interactions between T& T.

I was moved by Tiberius after his mother's death. The way he talked about her and his loss was heartbreaking.

Any additional comments?

Vérité is a wonderful story about two people from different backgrounds who find the courage to love despite their differences.

T&T are both strong characters who you admire all through the book.

Thier HEA was well deserved.

Wish I had my 10 hours back...

I have to say this was one of my least favorite Audible listens of all time. My biggest complaint is that the heroine is so one dimensional that I had a difficult time believing her as a character. Her relationship with her parents is over the top, as is the way she over reacts to any situation with the lead male character. Are we really supposed to believe that he sees her do one nice thing for a friend and that this makes him so invested in her that he puts up with her acting like a crazy immature 14 year old over, and over, and over? Taking anything he says out of context and so far from his actual meaning that every fight is laughable?
The narration didn’t help redeem this one either. The narrator has a great voice for the female characters, but her male voices made me cringe. Often she softened her voice to get the accent correct, despite the story referring to “baritone” voices. I had a really hard time not envisioning the lead male as a 5’5” white guy and it was pretty distracting.
Bottom line, I’d recommend you run from this one faster than the heroine does from her man.

Not good

No one would buy a book like this expecting Literature with a capital L. But even with those expectations, this book was ridiculous.
