Terrible

Couldn’t get past the second chapter without feeling like someone was reading off random medical language trying to sound intelligent. Not the least bit helpful from a psychotherapist trying to learn more about Polyvagal Theory.

Repetitive throughout

Repetitive data and subject matter in many chapters. The narrators are boring and provide little inflection to notate where new chapters and concepts begin.

Horrible translation?

A possible explanation of the language in this book is that someone is translating who has extremely poor skill. This book mixes technical descriptions with ridiculously poor choice of vocabulary and surprising misuses of slang. It would be funny if it wasn’t so jolting and frustrating to guess at what is being said. Also, it is very technical even for a researcher to follow, and the narrator is sleep-walking in tone.
