Incredibly Helpful and Practical

I've never read such an encouraging, helpful, practical, and realistic book on studying the Word. It was such a joy to read, and I'm walking away with numerous pages of notes and also a new, fuller perspective on how to get into the Word. Jen, who I quickly came to just love, doesn't necessarily give an easy five step plan for how to read the Bible and magically get the most out of it, but she unpacks the meaning of being a true woman OF the Word, and how to truly read, know, understand, and maybe even teach it to other women. I am so thankful for this book, and wholeheartedly recommend it to women who want to know the Word.

Beneficial! Inspiring!

This book gave me something I feel like I never learned growing up in the church: tools. Tools of practicality. How do I actually dig in to Gods word and make life application? This book tells you exactly that.
Loved it!

Pastors wife

Loved it can’t tell you how often I rewound went back and listened to a whole chapter again and again. Being a retired educator with more time to indulge myself with Gods Word, this book gave me a new and fresh look at how to study. You think I would already know that having a Masters degree and worked in education for over 20 years. Yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks and I thank you for your passion and your will to teach.

Excellent.

This is what I needed for what Bible study is and is not, how to properly study the Bible, and how to teach it to others. I am listening to it again because it is rich in information.

The best books are those that remind you how wonderful God is and encourage you to grow in faith. This book is one of them. Jen pushes us to not be lazy consumers but diligent seekers of what God has spoken to us. She points out common pitfalls that many of us tend towards in our Bible reading and encourages us to go beyond our comfort zone. I encourage any Christian woman to read this book.

wonderful all the way through the conclusion

This book really does show you the privilege we have in studying God's Word. The information on how to study is to the point and not too wordy. If you are a teacher there is amazing encouragement and guidance on how to teach well. I walked away from this book with a desire to know my God better and the joy of knowing I can.

Much Needed!

Jen Wilkin is the first person that I have ever heard/read that the Bible isn’t about us. It is about our Lord. She laid out this book very well and opened my desire to learn more about God in His Word.

Worthy of your time

This book contains a lot of helpful information regarding the study of God’s word for the primary purpose of knowing Him and the secondary purpose of learning more of His plan for your life. Brace yourself for the possibility of some painful (but necessary) insights into your previously incorrect view of what it means to study God’s word. At times I was discouraged by the author’s tone, but if you push past that, the message is critically important and delivered in a clear and organized fashion. This book is worth your time.

Best “How to study the Bible” Book

I listened to (via audible) and read a hard copy of this book. I took notes upon notes through this book which helps you learn to practically and thoughtfully study the Bible. Jen gives you a 5 step process called the 5 P’s of Sound Study and walks you through how to effectively use each step. I can’t wait to see how my understanding and insight of Who God Is and What His Word says grows from this process.
