Great book

This is an excellent book that provides an overview of apologetics and a broad sweep of world views that are counter to Christian culture. I loved all of the factual information provided and even much of the humor. There were a few areas where I had trouble with the author’s own readings of some sections. I don’t believe that it was her intention since she spoke openly of making sure that we respect people with different views from our own, but the way that she read certain sections was extremely off putting because while she rightly pointed out the fallacies in certain beliefs and even the evil in them, her tone was not exactly respectful regarding the people who believed them. It wasn’t enough to keep me from loving the book, but it did make me take a deeper interest in her own “chew and spit” method of digesting information. Well done!

I highly recommend it, but strongly urge anyone who is not deeply rooted in Biblical Christianity or is seeking more information about what Christians believe to gird your heart and mind to listen to some tough concepts that will fly hard in your face. Don’t reject them outright because of the tone. This book wasn’t written to be gentle or “kind” but to equip people who are already Christians to understand culture and defend their faith. It’s primary target audience is definitely not progressive Christians or non-Christians.

Valuable Read

This book really made me think through some of the lies I have become to accept about God and Christianity. I didn't care much for hearing it read aloud. Some of the structure of the book that wouldn't have bothered me if I were reading it on my own became obnoxious when hearing it read aloud. Since I didn't have time to sit and read it, however, that part of the performance was bearable enough for me to finish the book. Overall, I'm glad I finished it, which I couldn't have done without the audio version.

Great for parents who want kids with strong faith

For those who believe that one of the best things they can leave to their children is a strong and well thought out sense of faith, this book is a must-read. Particularly helpful was the repeated demonstrations that we should be attacking bad arguments / ideas while not attacking those who espouse those arguments/ideas. As stated by another author: “Be egalitarian regarding persons. Be elitist regarding ideas.” (Peter Kreeft)

Demonizes Public Universities

This book claims to teach Christian parents how to engage with the world around their children in a meaningful way, but ultimately presents very few practical or educational tools rooted in Scripture. Instead of providing ways for parents to prepare their children for differing world views they will encounter, this book spends most of each chapter making outlandish claims that Yoga will make children become Buddhist, or that secular professors will make students write essays about how God isn't real. I attended public university, and had none of the issues this book guarantees parents. Additionally, the narrator has a shrill and condescending tone throughout most of the audio. I would not recommend this book.

A good starter into apologetics

Appreciated the emphasis on loving the person over just winning an argument. A very important point missed by too many who just want to win or be right.

Fantastic book!

Loved how well written this book was! The audible version was easy to listen to, and the content is really thought provoking! The arguments, defense and offense, given are invaluable and I am so thankful for this! I would love to see this made into a very condensed apologetics for babies board book!

great subject.

The reader could have paused between chapters ot headings even.. great subject, but too much to take in in such a fast pace... I guess the author, who reads is not a professional reader ;)

a must have when wanting to build a firm foundatio

in a crazy world we are currently all navigating, I was seeking practical strategies how to raise my child in a Christian worldview and also wanting to equip him with The truth and being able to decern The TRUTH from counterfeits as well as provide him with the right knowledge to ensure that no matter what he may face at school someday he will be able to know the difference and stick to what his learnt about The Truth woth confidence, this Book is absolute GOLD, it's really helped me even untangle ideas that I believed were Christian but are actually not, its also help me learn to think more deeper about certain things that i encounter, thank you Hillary and all who contributed to mama bear apologetics it's truly been a game changer for the way I raise my child and the way I teach him about how to discern and how to know and Love Gods holy word even more
,God bless you all always

Loved it

Brilliant. I really loved the overviews of the topics in each chapter. It was a really good balance of depth and simplicity into each topic and thinking through them Biblically. Very accessible to the average mum, or dad, or anyone. I also really liked Hillary Morgan Ferrer's reading voice, she made it really fun. I'd really highly recommend it to anyone, especially those who want to think about the cultural lies addressed in the book for the first time and approaching them with discernment and with love.
