But instead, I went to Germany and ended up fighting Mercenaries. I also fell in love with a Vampire King who claimed me as his. Publisher's Summary
Sexy, alluring, ruthless, and oh so complicated.
West Moseley is known as the "charming" Dark Dweller. With his cheeky grin and southern drawl, he can charm anyone, especially women. And does.
But after being held prisoner and tortured by the cruel Seelie Queen, West's past comes back to haunt him. His memories of a tragic event and the truth of what happened on the Light side goes deeper than anyone realizes. Things he wants no one to know about.
Struggling with his own demons, he battles the very essence of what he is - a Dark Dweller - a terrifying beast from the Otherworld designed to hunt and kill.
When the Unseelie King sends him to Ireland to uncover a dangerous artifact, West's entire world takes a dangerous turn.
When a treasure lands in his hands, one he never suspected, nor wanted, he learns one crucial thing: you don't steal from the Demon King...not if you want to live.
West is a spin-off of the Darkness Series. It is a standalone adult urban fantasy romance, but it would greatly benefit the listener to start with the Darkness Series (1-4) first. West contains storylines, world building, and spoilers from previous audiobooks and characters. It's highly recommended starting with Darkness of Light (Book One).
Sexual content, language, alcohol, violence, death, and other mature content intended for listeners 17 and older.

Great Story and Perfect Narration!
I was so excited for West's story after getting small glimpses of him in the Darkness series, I was even more excited because Aaron Shedlock was the narrator. West was exactly what I thought he would be and Aaron brings him to life and makes him even more intriguing than her was in Darkness.
I loved that West's story is about healing and finding your way again. West and Rez both have a past that they need to overcome. Together they have a job to do but they find along the way is even better. This book has all the elements of the Darkness Series and some visiting characters too! The way it ended left me wondering if West and Rez will have another book, if so YAY!!!
The narration was PERFECT! Aaron has that deep gravely voice that was exactly West, add in the touch of a southern accent and DANG!! Oh and there is also an Irish accent...WOW! He really does a lot of great voices for all the different types of Fae too. Couldn't have made a better choice when picking the narrator.

Oh my gosh his voice is a breath of fresh air.
Thank God for his amazing voice.
Im so glad i didn't have to listem to the previous female narrator and all that huffing and puffing of hers.
She wasn't all bad but all of that beathing while narrating was to much for me to handle.
This male narrator is one of my favorites and is so much better.
I would have lived if he could narrate all of these books.
The other girl was to dramatic and annoying.
I do wish this Author would make these books better with more HEA and action parts.
Theres to much shitty stuff in these books.

Ten Glorious Stars!
Wow Just Wow! I read this book when it released last year and I patiently waited for it to be released on audio. OMG it was so worth the wait.
The story continues with West after the two worlds merge. West is left broken and full of secrets. Lars decides to send him on a mission with Rez to recover an ancient artifact. The journey of the story of discovery is unmatched. Not just the things they learn on the surface, but the shocking things brought to light from their pasts.
Aaron Shedlock delivers a powerful performance in West. I've listened to him before in other genres, but this book allowed him to delve deep into his bag of tricks. He is so talented and I could not be happier with him as the narrator. He performed each character to perfection. From the humor and slow and sexy drawl of West, Rez's confidence and snark, to Lars's commanding tone. And oh let's not forget the Irish accents!!!!!!!!!
This is a MUST listen, but be mindful, it is book 10 in the series. I recommend listening in order.

West's story is here!
West's story is a perfect compliment to the first four books of the Darkness series. I highly recommend reading/listening to those four books before West's book. This book is all about West and him finding his way and even possibly love.
Aaron Shedlock did an amazing job bringing West to life. This was my first audiobook narrated by him but certainly won't be my last.

Oooo, that voice though!
Would you listen to West again? Why?
Yes I would! Mr. Shedlock has a fantastic voice, yummy! And I feel like he really brought West's character to life! If I ever imagined a voice to West, this was it.
What other book might you compare West to and why?
The other books in the Darkness series. It's in the same world and has the same writing style.
Which scene was your favorite?
It's hard to just pick one. I enjoyed all the scenes with Rez and West banter! The characters have a great chemistry that makes this book flow! There is a lot of humor. One of my favorites was a reference to an...imprint left on a window. Couldn't stop laughing over that one.
Any additional comments?
OK, I might have a voice crush on the narrator but don't forget, there's a great story too! This book might not make much sense to you if you haven't read the Darkness series. Read/listen to that first or you might be a bit confused or might not understand the entire story. SMB hit it out of the park with this one.

Great listen...probably even better if listened to in order....
I chose to listen to this book because of the narrator. The author is new to me and, thus, I have not listened to the first four books in the Darkness series - my mistake. I decided to listen to West and if I couldn’t understand it, I would stop and go listen to the first four books. I had no problem getting into the book, enjoying the story, the characters, however, I think I would’ve enjoyed it much more if I had listened to the other books first. I now intend to listen to the entire series in order and listen to West again once I get to it chronologically. That said, I already really love this book. It’s full of action, magic, drama, romance, intrigue, everything you need to keep you coming back for more. As I stated previously, I listened to this book because of the narrator; Aaron Shedlock is one of my favorite narrators and, like all of his other performances, this one is nothing short of brilliant.

In love... again!
I love this book. I read it and now I've listened to it. I fell in love with West reading Stacey Marie Brown's wirds but now having heard his voice? Hopelessly head over heels in love! The narrator was a perfect choice, thank you.
Now let's talk about the book. I am a sucker for a good love story and it hits on every level. Having read all of Stacey Marie Brown's books, this one gives the reader an inside look into both West and Rez. He a wayward dark dweller and she the Unseeley Kings right hand and mistress.
They are sent on a mission by the Unseeley King and they have to go through love and loss and impossible situations to finish the mission. This story is a rollercoaster of emotion from anger to laughter to tears!!
Highly suggest this book and all of Stacey Marie Brown's books... they are all intertwined and amazing.
