Story
After dying and being reborn into a world that's built like a video game, Jim has found himself stuck in a very old-world style new-player zone for low-level adventurers. Unfortunately, the zone fell out of use centuries ago, and no one told the monsters they were supposed to take it easy on the Noobs. Even worse, the only new player around is Jim. Jim has been given an opportunity, and he'll do his best to take advantage of it.

You are no one. Level zero. Empty of mind and memory. Even your past has been stripped from your brain by the inscrutable System. A long, difficult road lies between you and remembering any part of who you are. A road punctuated with one death after another. You are too puny to survive by might alone. Information is the single resource that might keep you alive, but the brainless “digis” have none of it. Only those with experience can give you what you need, but most care nothing about you or your plight. In fact, some make it their mission to kill you.

The decision to start a new life is never an easy one, but for Joe the transition was far from figurative. Becoming a permanent addition to a game world, it doesn't take long to learn that people with his abilities are actively hunted. In fact, if the wrong people gained knowledge of what he was capable of, assassins would appear in droves.

Fight, survive, adapt, and rely only on yourself. That is Derek’s creed and what's got him through the System Integration on Earth. Everything changed when the System came. Cute bunnies and beautiful butterflies became savage killing machines. Then the Invaders arrived with a single goal: to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. War has raged ever since. None of this mattered much to Derek, aside from making living a little more perilous.

Story
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

He and his best friend, an axe with a powerful Fusion that causes it to become sharper and stronger than a normal tool, are feared by the trees in the magical forest north of his home, as he can fell the quickly growing monoliths faster than anyone else in the community.

Story
It was supposed to be a medical marvel. Instead, it triggered the apocalypse. Half of humanity mutated into mindless zombies. Half the survivors mutated into the inhumans: various new species of people with new appearances and abilities. Some grew scales, some grew fur, some could fly, some could survive only underwater. Decades passed, and from the ashes of the old world, a new patchwork civilization rose. Humans and inhumans lived in tentative peace, and the zombies turned out to be not much of a threat once a few generations of survivors had come and gone.

Story
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

Publisher's summary
Something quite odd is happening in Second World - the planet's foremost MMORPG. Something that's causing alliances to be broken, and friendships, forgotten. A worthless low-level mine becomes the stage of vicious battles, its burned ruins suddenly contested by the game's toughest clans. Every border is controlled, and every road in the province blocked off. The weak players and NPCs alike are subjected to non-stop violent raids courtesy of Eastern invaders. And the strong...the strong are scouring the virtual world for the culprit - the weirdest noob the game has ever seen.

Tired of ramen noodles, past-due notices, and feeling like his future is over before it ever started, Dirk decides that if he's going to make something of himself, it'll be within the game, taking advantage of the real-life payouts from selling in-game goods on King's League's River Market. When virtual reality becomes real enough that people feel as if they're being transported to another world, Valia Online arrives. A man running from his past joins the game to forget it all. Calling himself Jack Thorn, he chooses an undead race, Deathlord. A mage by choice, and a swordsman by necessity, he soon finds out that he'll need to use much more than magic and steel to survive; strategy, creativity, and carefully chosen words can often accomplish what simple attacks can't.

Build your own castle, tame a dragon, conquer a kingdom! All those desperate, lonely, and insecure - Mirror World offers you a chance!" Started slow and at times monotonous, if you haven't played mmorpg style games before then the first few chapters might stop you in your tracks, however the overall story was enjoyable and immersive.

Overuse of the word NOOB?
While the book does refer to the MC as a noob to an excessive amount, he is in fact a new player with what can be considered nearly zero exposure to modern day video games. To top it off and give justification to other people calling him a Noob, is the fact that the game is the biggest sensation for the past few years and the MC has been so isolated that he can only vaguely recall the name of the game.
While other reviews say that there is an excessive use of the word Noob to describe the MC and many of his actions, I have personally played online video games where people will scream and curse at others saying they are a noob or that action was a noob thing all the time. As I have had this experience, it is not an issue that the other characters in the book who use this term, who also play the game for a living, might become upset with someone who is so unfamiliar with the game. The fact that he comes across as someone who can't even remember to look at online posts for help, destroyed his stat build, and can't even figure out how to eat on his own, further cements this notion.

Give it a chance
I refrained getting this book even though it was a suggestion because I wasn't ready to get absorbed into another series, but now that some of the other series I have devoted time to have reached a lul I had the time to invest in this series and I enjoyed it as much as I knew I would. I am also very happy that there are a few more stories in this series that I can already dive into.

Excellent LITrpg!
Slow start but worth it after chapter 3. This book has Some original elements mixed in with the over use of the word noob.. My favorites being 1. He doesn’t appear to be that tough because his stats are hidden under a low level and 2. The spell “clean slate” which has the potential for him to keep starting over at level 10 with any race while keeping his stats. This could spin off to a hero going on many quests but hiding among the masses. Has some fun potential if done well. So far, it has been done very well!

Noob, noob, noob.
What a noob. You're a noob. Such a noob. Noobs like you are too noobish to do even the noobiest of tasks that normal noobs can do. Quit noobing around. Stupid level 0 noob.
Seriously, the word noob is horrifically overused during the first five hours. There are several words that could replace it just fine and NOT detract from the story or dialogue. How many times can one person call another a noob in the same conversation?
Most of the characters seem to have a lewd quality about them, aside from the main character, and treat people of lower level with complete disdain. This definitely gives the world a different feel and creates a cutthroat environment. It seemed that only a select few players are decent people and the NPC's were also well mannered as games usually make them out to be.
A confusing aspect of the game is the prompts. I was lost several times because the prompts we're too similar and it sometimes sounded like a single prompt was read like six times for a specific achievement.
The world was slowly being built up throughout the book and the fact that people worked to convert in-game currency to real money made it that much more interesting. In-game slaves? That's pretty cool. An unstoppable bugged NPC called Bug? That's also pretty cool. Dude gets a sex change?? Okay...what a twist! I give the book an overall of four stars because I enjoyed the story so much and I wasn't going to let the word "noob" influence my review heavily.
There are a few things that I hope get cleared up in the second book because they didn't make sense but I'll be listening to the second book nonetheless.

Weirdest Noob
Great book.
It had enough of the rpg aura about it without becoming all numbers.
Great story with just enough action and intrigue to wrap everything into a good feeling of what’s about to happen.
I liked the narration, it was well done.
