Publisher's summary

Eddie Hunter is about at the end of his rope, so when he stumbles across an ad looking for people to farm in Long Term Immersion in the game Light Online, he can't believe his luck. Once hired he enters the game as soon as he can. Unbeknownst to him, though, the person that hired him is also doing illicit research on the pods that he and the other farmers are using.

The research is rapidly discovered by the AIs that monitor the game and shut down, forcefully, by the company that runs Light Online. But the code that runs those pods has been altered, and until it's fixed Eddie and the others can't log out. Although the devs assure him that it won't take long to fix, Eddie's not so sure of that himself.

Eddie entered the game to make money in real life, and as he tries to do that he finds himself getting entangled deeper and deeper in the game and with the people he meets there. But when he discovers a side of the game that the previous players had apparently never even considered, he knows he has to find a way to stay in the game.

Good book

A little more action would be nice but overall a good book. I will buy next book to see where it leads.

Refreshing LitRPG-Light

This is a refreshing change to the typical LitRPG, and it is like eating candy...easy on the mind and fun. Enjoyable world building and leveling system. As for that refreshing change...not a constant dungeon slog, nor explicit sex, nor constant extreme villains. It's just different, which is something I like in a LitRPG, and the reader can easily go with the flow.

if you like World building then this is for you

if you like World building then this is for you it's a great series that shows great potential in showing both the some of the dishonesty that can happen and trying to get people to farm If You're Expecting intrigued military and Criminal organizations you got that the one thing I would have to say that tent on media has made a misstep in but they have decided that the next book will be coming out in December this is something that should be coming out in mid June this is a serious that you just want to read the first book and then go dive into the next book within the next 2 to 3 months and that way it isn't lost and you're not forgetting anything because there are such subtleties to this book that by putting it out in December and it's most likely that you will lose some readers because of it and people may even forget about the series

Great balance of world building, town building and action

As a pretense ive finished books 1 and 2 before this review.

The story has a slight twist from the normal stuck in a vrmmo and actually takes place post launch a noticeable time window.

The story itself reminded me in the way ascend online feels although less raw numbers/grinding and killing but instead more in the social aspect of the game and understanding npcs aren’t far from people themselves.

My biggest issue with the story is the narrators female voices. They all almost sound the same and with little range.

The stakes are small, the story is slow and....

Its actually pretty refreshing. Often the litrpg scene is dealing with massive nonstop world ending or at least life ending consequences for actions in this book an issue could be some jerks bust-up aren't or the MC needs more rabbiteat to meetdemand for his bunny kebobs.

There are relationships of a romantic nature but the actual sex stuff is glossed over thankfully,, the narrator's female voice is....eh it's serviceable.

Loved it!!!

Had my eye on this book for a while...was so excited when I saw it on audible. I enjoyed it greatly...loved the excitement of starting a new game and building up one's character.

it really does not have much to do with farming just a guy who is told he will be able to farm in this game as a job so he takes it. then finds out it is not the real company that owns the game so he reports it to the game the game tells him he can have anything he wants so he tells them he wants all the farm land an gets it were he starts to build an uses his farm food an the killing of rabbits to start a food stand an go even more ahead to give the other seller thier competition an sells stuff for a cheaper rate. builds a in ect i like how he kills rabbits i know the feeling how them things can be a pain being a Gardner my self

Protagonist is a bit annoying and rape.

As the headline says, the protagonist is a bit annoying. He has the humor of an adolescent male that is socially awkward and thinks being a dick is funny. Luckily he doesn't do it too often. Then he whines a bit, even whining about stuff that he has decided to do, just to whine I guess.
What troubled me most about this book is there are millions of people playing an immersion game where you can get raped. Not an alert message saying, "You have been raped" but a graphic full-body experience of being raped. The number of people in the world that would line up for a game that allows you to be raped is very small, fractions of a percent of the people playing this game.

Great start to what could be an awesome series

Loved the book, as well as the MC. Worth the credit for sure... Now be like Netflix and give us the whole series.. :)
