Publisher's summary

Eddie Hunter is about at the end of his rope, so when he stumbles across an ad looking for people to farm in Long Term Immersion in the game Light Online, he can't believe his luck. Once hired he enters the game as soon as he can. Unbeknownst to him, though, the person that hired him is also doing illicit research on the pods that he and the other farmers are using.

The research is rapidly discovered by the AIs that monitor the game and shut down, forcefully, by the company that runs Light Online. But the code that runs those pods has been altered, and until it's fixed Eddie and the others can't log out. Although the devs assure him that it won't take long to fix, Eddie's not so sure of that himself.

Eddie entered the game to make money in real life, and as he tries to do that he finds himself getting entangled deeper and deeper in the game and with the people he meets there. But when he discovers a side of the game that the previous players had apparently never even considered, he knows he has to find a way to stay in the game.

Mediocre

A decent vrmmorpg that devolves into nice guy wish fulfillment. I finished it, but it got a bit cringy near the end.

Base Builders will love it.

It's not a bad book, it's definitely not a good book either. The writer goes for a different approach which is a nice touch, but the characters are just written odd. I honestly don't think the author really knows how to write a proper character with realistic reactions. The most glaring thing however is the "romance". It is just poorly written. When you add in the Cliche Frat boy types as villains' it's just not that good honestly. I do like the general idea for the story, it's a fresh take and the base building and crafting is well done and entertaining. The characters and writing ability however is cliche and just poor.

Of Bunnies and Inns

Tom Larcombe wrote a fun, quick paced story and Derek Shoales did a great job narrating the tail. A great LitRPG world was created in the Light On Line game. The nuances and interplays are intriguing without bogging down the story. I highly recommend this book. Only one criticism, the second and following books are not out yet.

if you like World building then this is for you

if you like World building then this is for you it's a great series that shows great potential in showing both the some of the dishonesty that can happen and trying to get people to farm If You're Expecting intrigued military and Criminal organizations you got that the one thing I would have to say that tent on media has made a misstep in but they have decided that the next book will be coming out in December this is something that should be coming out in mid June this is a serious that you just want to read the first book and then go dive into the next book within the next 2 to 3 months and that way it isn't lost and you're not forgetting anything because there are such subtleties to this book that by putting it out in December and it's most likely that you will lose some readers because of it and people may even forget about the series

World building + business savvy + romantic!!!

I got this book because of a previous review stating it was similar to the land. I like this book and think it’s different because it has a lot more of an entrepreneurial spirit to the world building part of it. It still has all of the gaming and litrpg elements I want but with a greater hint of LETS MAKE MONEY!!!

Decent Story Narrator Wasn't Bad But Not Good

This was a decent story. It primarily focuses on world building. But, there are quests and adventuring woven in. The story was structured well. But the writing and the dialogue that fleshes out the story structure is a bit weak.

It's not a bad book. It's just not a good book.

It's not a bad listen. And, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a low key story to listen too.

Be prepared for a weak narrator. He's not bad, just limited.

The stakes are small, the story is slow and....

Its actually pretty refreshing. Often the litrpg scene is dealing with massive nonstop world ending or at least life ending consequences for actions in this book an issue could be some jerks bust-up aren't or the MC needs more rabbiteat to meetdemand for his bunny kebobs.

There are relationships of a romantic nature but the actual sex stuff is glossed over thankfully,, the narrator's female voice is....eh it's serviceable.

Great start to what could be an awesome series

Loved the book, as well as the MC. Worth the credit for sure... Now be like Netflix and give us the whole series.. :)

It’s meh

There is not much fantasy in here. The main fantasy element is immersive MMORPG, beyond that it sounds literally like watching someone play on twitch. The game elements are nothing new, there is not much in the story to keep you hooked. If you are looking at city builder, CivCEO series is much better. Overall, bit boring.

Solid slice of life

Definitely worth a dabble in this good slice of life LITRPG nothing awesome or original - just nice to have a series focusing on town building over slaying.

I almost turned off near the start after the MC’s engagement with the first female of the story, worried about the tone the book may have - but this didnt happen.

Slow burn

Takes it time setting everything up, introducing you to the characters and setting which are all well written...

If you like a Competent MC with advantages without being OP, this is for you

Great world building

I found the first book in Audible plus and really enjoyed the story so listened to the second book. A great and interesting twist on the genre . the books seem be similar to the other gaming books, then they grow into a fascinating concept of the real and fantasy genre. well worth the price (Free) so give them a try.

Ticks the right boxes

Combat, leveling, slice of life, settlement building.
Add to that some interesting characters and an engaging plot and I bought book 2 with half a book still to go.

MC goals and personality established pre system entry and was easy to connect with.

It was ok.

This was my first audiobook, so that might taint my review a bit. I found the story interesting enough, albeit slow paced. Being isekai'ed and working as an NPC is like a guilty pleasure dream, so this story seemed top notch for that. My gripes however were that when the main character starts out, he barely does any farming and the first half of the book is just him throwing sticks at bunnies. It gets awkward with every new female character he meets, because the only ways the author knows how to introduce them is to have the main character and others note how "hot" they are and their "generous" busts. It was also kind of funny listening to a man with a deep voice speak in a higher tone, trying to make the female characters come to life. Oh, and the amount of times character stats and skills were listed from top to bottom were obscene, it would've been ok to just summarize them after the first few times.
