SERIES IS GETTING BETTER - NARRATION IS NOT

I like the premise of this series, so far, but the narration just might keep me from continuing with it. The narration is stilted and in some parts I could not separate different individual's portion of a conversation, most males sounded the same and female voices were ridiculous. I don't believe GJ was the best person for the narration of this series as there are so many different voices that need to be differentiated. It really is too bad.

As for the storyline, I believe, after having listened to Book #1 also, that it is getting better and character development, however slow, is also getting better. I don't like, though, that the villain (Gabriel) is the star of the show and is much more described that anyone else.

I love werewolves, suspense, drama, etc. but I think HK-W needs to step up her game.

okay experience better then the first book

Would you listen to The Strip again? Why?

Might listen to this again. The series is starting to pick up the pace but for some reason this narrator just drags for me. I can see him doing another story better or maybe it's the director. I'm still on the fence if I'll try other in the series.

Good continuation - I luv these wolves

Firstly, I love the BBW series, I like the plots which are unusual, with some twists, great characters and come on, who wouldn't like a handsome werewolf to take home. Now the but - I didn't think this was as good as the 1st book in the series - that's my only complaint - well that and they could be a bit 'hotter'.

I liked the narrator too.

Worth my credit? Definitely.

This book was really interesting. I loved the characters in this book. I can’t wait to find out what happens next. Your narrator Gildart is fantastic. I enjoyed his voice so much.

Warning - Violence against woman

Overall it is OK Story. The big issue that there is segment in which protagonist is stripped naked & whipped. So it is not a “nice / cute Hallmark meets Twilight” story.

Too much semi rape to listen thru

Spoiler Alert!

Again with marking someone against their will. Then let her go so she can be raped and hurt more because of said mark. a bit too much for my liking. Makes the male alpha look like an idiot for letting her go. I stopped listening at chapter 9 too much against the will stuff to be enjoyable for me. suspense and damsel in distress is one thing but belittling rape and will isn't my cup of tea.

Brutal aspects that will disturb some

This book has lots of action and a very strong Heroine. However, it also contains lots of violence and even scenes of torture. Anyone that is sensitive to scenes that contain violence against women should skip this series. There is even a scene where the Heroine invites a physical struggle with her chosen lover. It is done, I believe, as a way to parallel the characters, that are ware wolves, with the mating rituals of the animal world. Be that as it may, it will likely upset a sensitive soul. In these books, there is little time dedicated to the romantic aspects, of the story, so if that’s what you enjoy, choose a different paranormal series.

Wow, I am hooked!

This series is really complex. The women in the series overlap in the progression of the tale. Can't wait to start the next one. I think the narrator is doing a fine job as well. Those accents are authentic enough for me!
