From the sample I thought I would enjoy this very different take on a vampire novel. But I found myself really not enjoying it. It seemed kind of depressing, and, really, does it have to be so erotic in a victimizer kind of way? I know, I know, it is a vampire novel, I just thought this would be a different take on it. It is just not my cup of tea. I know people really like her, but I had to stop listening part way through. Snooky is no Odd Thomas.

I was introduced to this series from 'True Blood' series and the first season is almost word for word with this book.

I want to say how amazing the narration is. Parker doesn't just read the words, she acts the emotions. In the first half there are two major intense scenes that Parker handles like a pro.

I have to say I was skepical, I mean Vampires, really? I am totally hooked now. I am now downloading my fourth book in the series. I read a couple reviews that the accent of the narrator was hard to take, but I don't find that to be the case. The story grabbed me and didn't let go. Make my morning walks just fly by. Thanks.

Captivating plot, without all of the gratuitous violence and shock-value sex scenes on the HBO series. Since I'm now in book #3 of the series, the writing style is getting a bit stale-- the author likes to recycle a bit--but the story is a real page-turner. Obviously (as other reviewers have pointed out) this isn't high literature, but highly entertaining and definitely worth a credit.
