Mafia Romance + Grumpy/Sunshine

This book follows Alpha & Zephyr and them finding their way back to each other.

I absolutely adored Zephyr and her love for Alpha, I also loved that she wasn't just this bubbly girl that gave and gave and gave without it draining her.

Their story broke my heart and because this series has a subplot throughout the series I can't wait until the final book comes out so I can finally get some HEAs

i love this story of old lovers memory lost and how they tangled into the other stories the ending shocked me!! such a good book

Ramona master is such a crappy narrator. Her voice is annoying I suggest not listening to this one

When I first read this series a year ago, this was the book I probably would have listed on the bottom of my favorites of the series. But, after this re-read, it just jumped into second place behind 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘳…

Ten years ago, Zephyr fell in love with Alpha, only for him to completely disappear without a trace. She finds him again, only to find that he has no memory of her. So she comes up with a plan to get him to marry her so that they can fall in love all over again. 🖤

I absolutely fell in love with Zephyr this time. She’s sunshine, she’s spunky, she blathers on when she’s nervous, but not everyday is sunshine and rainbows for her. I love the depiction of her down days. It is just so relatable, and it’s great to read about a character who can be so vulnerable, but still keep her heart open.

And our poor, damaged Alpha. He’s dangerous, he’s huge, and when his heart finally starts to crack open for Zee. 🥹

This series is amazing. And being able to listen to audio means i don’t have to wait until after work. Love this series!

Beauty and the Beast trope
4th book in the Dark Verse universe and not a standalone. The chemistry between the FMC and MMC was perfect! The plot does not disappoint and super mysterious

Finished Quickly

This book was a lot of fun. At first I was a little sad to move away from the main characters of the first three books but I ended up really liking the new characters. The plot twist at the end was crazyyyyy.

The one thing I thought was weird was that the characters had a Spanish accent. The Spanish people speaking to each other in Spanish would in theory not have an accent because Spanish is their mother tongue. It was a strange addition. It would make more sense if they were talking in English to the American characters but I’d imagine in your own hometown you would be speaking your first native language, sans accent.

Really enjoyed this one! It kind of ended on a cliffhanger, but it was also stated at the beginning of the book that Alpha and Zephyr's story doesn't wrap up until after The Annihilator (the next book), therefore, Runyx could not reveal the ending to their story.

This one definitely focused more on the romance than the underlying thriller/suspense plot, but it was still enjoyable. It was a dark second chance, amnesia, marriage of convenience romance (lots of tropes!) It also continues the subplot from the previous books.

Overall, I can say that I am thoroughly invested and really excited to read the next books!
