Publisher's Summary

From USA Today best-selling author Devney Perry, writing as Willa Nash, comes a small-town stranded-together romance.

Kerrigan Hale’s personal life is about as exciting as a bucket of tar. With hard work and hustle as her steadfast companions, who needs romance or adventure? Her empire in Calamity, Montana, isn’t going to build itself.

For years, her mentor - and investor - helped make her dreams come true. Until his unexpected death put her fate in his grandson’s hands. A brazen billionaire, he seems intent on ruining Kerrigan’s life.

But if Pierce Sullivan thinks she’ll go down without a fight, he’s sorely mistaken. Pushed to the extreme, she drives to his ritzy mountain lodge to force the arrogant You Can Call Me Mr. Sullivan to hear her out.

No sooner does she arrive than a snowstorm traps her with Pierce. Stranded together for days, she’s in for the battle of her life. Pierce is nearly irresistible by candlelight. Without his suits and fancy cars, he’s almost human.

Except only a fool would let down her guard. And Kerrigan can’t risk her future. Not when she doesn’t know if he’s out to pilfer her dreams...or to steal her heart.

❤️ A SWEET, FEEL-GOOD, LOW-ANGST ROMANCE ❤️

Calamity’s Property Entrepreneur Kerrigan had a wealthy mentor whose faith in her abilities drove her on, inspired her and he lent her money too.. but, when the elderly successful businessman suddenly dies, his estranged Billionaire Grandson Pierce inherits everything. The damaged Businessman drives from Denver Hellbent on severing her ties to his Company, wrecking her plans and dreams and collecting on her debt.. so bankrupting Kerrigan. And the first few times Pierce and Kerrigan meet it’s battle lines, angry glares and heated words.. however, Fate and Destiny interfere giving them a chance to act on the chemistry that’s been sizzling and flaring between them. And the mega snowstorm that Fate flung their way was overkill and clearly her showing off.. but it allowed them to talk freely, lower walls, let go of their hostilities, clear-up misconceptions and really get to know each other.. and what they discovered was love.. undeclared love.

But Billionaire Pierce Sullivan was holding a big secret close to his chest.. a commitment that stops him asking for more.. something important that drew him back to Denver.. and that just about broke Kerrigan’s heart. This man will be back.. he will be willing to reveal his secret.. he’ll show all his cards.. and he will hopefully claim his woman.. but will she be waiting.. or walking away?

Worth a credit? Yes I really enjoyed this feel-good romance where a drool-worthy hotshot Billionaire meets a sweet sassy woman with small town charm. It was a wee bit insta but sweet sentiments, adult conversations, sexy times and a soul-to-soul connection easily moulds and meanders through a low-angst listen. And the awesome dual POV narration by Ava and Aiden were perfect for the characters. And whether this author is writing as Devney Perry or Willa Nash it’s a ’one click’ sure bet for me.

Oh So Fabulous!!!

Kerrigan and Pierce!! Oh oh my! I was so excited for this book as I really liked Kerrigan so far throughout this series, and the confrontation that we witnessed with her and Pierce in the last book, had me impatiently waiting. Well I was not disappointed!! I truly did not like Pierce, and the pain that he was causing Kerrigan, really made me not like him. He was arrogant, angry, unyielding, and mean. However, the more I got to know him, he started to win me over. Kerrigan was a super star. She was real and raw through most of the book, and I loved that she defended herself when it came to what she wanted. Kerrigan fought and showed who she really was, and Pierce slowly began to thaw. Willa Nash kept me guessing with what was really going on, and I did not expect what came, twice, but it was beautiful. Willa Nash has a gift for making you feel what her characters are feeling, and she can also make you fall hard for the side characters too. I loved the fact that this relationship did not start off good, and the build was exhilarating. I fell in love with Pierce, and Kerrigan is an amazing woman who held tight to her dreams. This book was fabulous! One of my top reads of the year.
The narration in this book is fantastic!! Ava Erickson adds so much to her characters that it is easy to get lost in her voice, and Aiden Snow(Please hold while I fan myself) has one of the hottest voices in the business. With these two narrating you always know which character is talking and you do not get lost. Great choice for this title!!!

Love

4.5 stars! Oh Mr. Sullivan how hot you are! There is just something about Pierce Sullivan that draws you in despite being an arrogant jerk to Kerrigan. I didn’t really understand how Kerrigan formed such a bond with Gabriel that he financed her entrepreneurial aspirations and obviously Pierce had his thoughts. Believing his grandfathers reasons to not be completely professional, Pierce wants all ties cut to Kerrigan’s loan when he inherits the debt. Little did he know this little spitfire has as much drive and passion for her business as he has for dumping it. The complexity of Pierce’s past is unthinkable and once the truth is out, Kerrigan finally understands. Can she forgive Pierce for drawing her into a passionate weekend and disappearing? Their story is is about letting go of their past and learning to focus on priorities, but these lessons are never learned without heartache. There is so much love surrounding Pierce and Kerrigan. I enjoyed watching them grow together.

The Brazen by Willa Nash

Tropes/Themes:
-MF contemporary romance
-Grump x Sunshine
-Hate to love
-Single parent
-Forced proximity
-Small town
-Dual POV
-Standalone (3rd in a series)

Another simple but sweet installment to this small town romance series by Devney Perry (writing as Willa Nash). I’d recommend this series to anyone that is looking for a super low angst series with straightforward plot lines and level pacing. While I normally prefer a lot more happening in my romances, these act as the perfect palate cleansers between darker reads.

CWs for loss of a loved one, miscarriage, cheating (not between the main couple), family discord

Another solid addition to the Calamity Montana series!

The Brazen is the third book in the Calamity Montana series and this one was had so much more going on than the blurb gives away! This whole series has been solid for me.

I was so excited for this romance after seeing Kerrigan yell at the businessman (aka the hero) in the previous book in the series. Kerrigan is a busy landlady and owns multiple properties around Calamity, she’s determined to make herself successful and has endless ideas for DIY projects. She took a loan from her mentor and investor to make her dreams a reality but after her mentor’s sudden death, his grandson Pierce shows up to collect on the debt. They definitely butt heads right from the start, with Pierce also assuming Kerrigan was one of his grandfather’s mistresses. 😅 Pierce is so taken with Kerrigan from the start, and kind of hates that fact, but he can’t stay away from Calamity or Kerrigan. Their story takes off from there and turns into a lot more, including a bit of a time jump after some things go down.

I liked how Kerrigan and Pierce really open up to one another, they both have so much growth in the book which was also nice to see. Kerrigan’s family doesn’t take her business plans seriously and I loved seeing her stand up for herself and her dreams. I loved the scene where Pierce and Kerrigan get snowed in together during a storm. I was surprised with some of the things that happen later into the story and it definitely added to their character’s journey.

Good Narration and Story

This is probably my favorite so far of this series. The tension was just right. I don't enjoy when the disagreement lasts too long into the story. Better that outside sources drive the struggle later.

wonderful

Another wonderfully written book in the Calamity series. Thoroughly enjoyed Pierce and Kerrigan’s story and liked both characters. The imperfectness of Kerrigan’s family added so much to the story. Loving this small town series.

Listened to the audiobook:
Narrators’ voices were excellent, but the narration was much too slow.

Forced proximity due to snowstorm = yes please!

I started The Brazen yesterday with the intention of listening over a few days, and I ended up finishing it off late last night - the storyline had me hooked, and the performance from both the narrators was wonderful - I do always enjoy performances from Ava Erickson & Aiden Snow.

One of my favourite parts of The Brazen was when a misunderstanding that has been shaping Kerrigan & Pierce's very slow developing relationship is finally cleared up. Kerrigan is very much taken by surprise, and her reaction made me LOL. I went back and listened to that scene again : )

Pierce really does come across very cool and reserved towards Kerrigan to start with, but the reader soon discovers there is a very good reason for him to act in that manner. He is a character that I warmed to more over the storyline as his feelings towards Kerrigan become too strong for him to be able to ignore. Loved this one, looking forward to the next couple up in the series, enemies to lovers is a fav of mine.

love at first sight

absolutely loved it!! Pierce didn't want to love Kerrighan but it was love at first sight and boy he was an asshole until they got snowed in together to release what he thought he knew about Kerrighab wasn't true then there was no stopping both of them falling in love fast!!
