Publisher's Summary

Poppy Maysen carries a journal in her purse. Its pages were filled long ago by a man who craved adventure, lived life to the fullest, and never failed to make her laugh. The journal is his birthday list - one she vows to complete.

She'll do the things he wanted to do most. Because maybe, just maybe, if she can finish his list, she can start to live again.

Poppy expects going through the birthday list will be hard. She expects it to hurt. But what she doesn't expect is Cole. Could the man who watched her heart shatter be the one to put it back together again?

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

I really enjoyed this book. It was very emotional. Poppy is a very strong women who is trying to find her way forward. Cole is a cop who was there for the worst moment in Poppy's life, now 5 years later they meet again. I loved that this book was mature, low on useless drama and even though it was emotionally hard, it was still fun and sweet too! I'm jumping right into book 2!

The narration was good with DUAL POV narration.

Her best

Her best book as far as I'm am concerned. Narration could have been a bit better on the males narration piece, at times it felt like he was narrating "American Justice".

4.75 Minute by minute STARS

Despite the underlying sadness felt throughout the book it was surprisingly sweet and funny. You feel Poppy's heartbreak and her struggle as she battles with herself. Cole was absolute perfection! He was determined and I love that he was also understanding. I enjoyed listening to Jamie's lost each chapter. I have to say I shed some tears throughout but for some reason the truck is what really got me. I fell for all the characters and I would totally be friends with all of them.

Narration was great! Melissa did an amazing job voicing the kids.

Could have been so much better

Loved the story, the imagination of the birthday list

Would have been 5 stars in every category if the author had left out the *f* word and the other cussing. I do not tolerate people around me using that language and I do not want to hear it in an audio book. It added nothing and detracted volumes. Could have been so much better if I did not have to cringe every time there was useless cursing. There are still people in this world that have morals and class. Because of this, I would not recommend this book to anyone.

Great story!

Loved the storyline and characters. The ONLY negative thing I can say is the male narrator’s pace was so slow I sometimes had to increase the speed a little during his parts. But other than that it’s phenomenal!

Slow Burn Feel!

I love this author and this book did not let me down. I loved the build up of the relationship, however there were moments when the h drove me a little crazy. This was such a sweet love story and the side characters were great. The narration was spot on and I enjoyed the performance. Don't pass this one up!!!!

Slowburn but cute

Definitly a slow burn. 🐌 The hero is very patient and polite throughout the whole book, waiting for Heroine to be "ready". It is a really cute story and will most likely be a re-listen. Jeremy York did a fantastic job with the narrating, but I don't think his voice was best for the part. Melissa Moran was great as well.

Uplifting Story

“Do you know what I like best about New Year’s Day?” she whispered. “What?” “Everyone gets a new beginning.”

A bit of a late post but I wanted to review while it was fresh in my mind.

So this was my reaction when I finished this audio earlier today. The Birthday List by @devneyperry is one I’ve been wanting to read for a good while now and I saw that it was included in my audio membership. You haven’t seen someone download an audio so quickly lol

I kind of went in blind, which is sometimes a good thing, especially with stories like this. I had heard it was emotional, and boy it was…but equally very uplifting, positive and heartwarming.

Poppy Maysen is grieving and we follow her on her journey on how she deals with her grief and how she moves forward.
Cole Goodman enters Poppy’s life at that most pivotal and heartbreaking moment of her life. It’s full coincidence that he meets Poppy again years later and he is the one that helps her move forward, guided by a very special list 📓

This is a slow burn romance, but it was the right pace for Poppy and what she’s been dealing with. Cole was just so wonderful, patient, the perfect gentleman.

There’s was some great secondary characters too; Randall and Jimmy giving us some fun loving humour, bless them. I’m looking forward finding out more about Finn and Molly in their own story, Letters To Molly. That will be my next audio read.

First time listening to Jeremy York and Melissa Moran, it took me a couple of chapters to get used to their tones, but I have to say they were both exceptional and really engaging.

The Birthday List is definitely one of those stories that will stay with me forever. It’s a beautiful story of hope and new beginnings.
