Publisher's Summary

Happily married to her college sweetheart, Poppy lived a blessed life with the husband of her dreams. Then everything changed. She is no longer a wife. She is no longer the envy of her single friends. Now, people look at her with pity as they whisper a single word behind her back. Widow. Years after her husband's tragic death, years of pain and sorrow and wishing for the life she'll never get back, Poppy decides to finish Jamie's birthday list. She'll do the things he wanted to most. Because maybe, just maybe, if she can complete his list, she can start to live again. Poppy expects going through the birthday list will be hard. She expects it to hurt. But what she doesn't expect is Cole. Could the man who delivered the news of her husband's death and shattered her heart be the one to help her put it back together again?

Her best

Her best book as far as I'm am concerned. Narration could have been a bit better on the males narration piece, at times it felt like he was narrating "American Justice".

Great story!

Loved the storyline and characters. The ONLY negative thing I can say is the male narrator’s pace was so slow I sometimes had to increase the speed a little during his parts. But other than that it’s phenomenal!

Slow Burn Feel!

I love this author and this book did not let me down. I loved the build up of the relationship, however there were moments when the h drove me a little crazy. This was such a sweet love story and the side characters were great. The narration was spot on and I enjoyed the performance. Don't pass this one up!!!!

Could have been so much better

Loved the story, the imagination of the birthday list

Would have been 5 stars in every category if the author had left out the *f* word and the other cussing. I do not tolerate people around me using that language and I do not want to hear it in an audio book. It added nothing and detracted volumes. Could have been so much better if I did not have to cringe every time there was useless cursing. There are still people in this world that have morals and class. Because of this, I would not recommend this book to anyone.

sob fest!

Devney Perry pulled out all the emotional stops with this one!
This beautiful, gut wrenching, thought provoking story has twists and turns, sorrow and joy, big giggles and wracking sobs!
The heartache that Poppy lives with is felt in every page, until, like with her selfies, you begin to feel her healing.
If you've never read any of Devney's books... start now! Every word of hers that I've ever read had touched my heart and soul!

This novel was selected for Vilma’s Vixen book discussion group’s June group read on Facebook. I had never heard of this author, but I was pleasantly surprised by widowed Poppy and policeman Cole’s love story. Poppy’s determination to complete her deceased husband’s birthday list of things to do by each birthday was admirably. And I liked that fate brought Cole back into Poppy’s life a second time. Being an intelligent man, Cole knew there was a good reason for fate bringing them together again. He seized his opportunity to get to know her, and he even helped her complete some of the birthday list activities.

Both narrators did an excellent job enhancing this love story, and I look forward to many more book projects by them and by this new-to-me author.

beautiful story

a beautiful story of love and forgiveness. The characters were real and raw, and gorgeously written as well.
