Publisher's Summary

Have you ever seen a planet invaded by rampaging space mutants from another dimension or Nazi dinosaurs from the future?

Don't let this happen to you!

Rifts happen, so you should be ready when universes collide. A policy with Stranger & Stranger can cover all of your interdimensional insurance needs. Rated "Number One in Customer Satisfaction" for three years running, no claim is too big or too weird for Tom Stranger to handle.

But now Tom faces his greatest challenge yet. Despite being assigned the wrong - and woefully inadequate - intern, Tom must still provide quality customer service to multiple alternate Earths, all while battling tentacle monsters, legions of the damned, an evil call center in Nebraska, and his archnemesis, Jeff Conundrum. Armed with his Combat Wombat and a sense of fair play, can Tom survive? And will Jimmy the Intern ever discover his inner insurance agent?

It's time to kick ass and adjust claims.

Adam Baldwin (Firefly, Chuck) performs Larry Correia's madcap interdimensional tale of underwriting and space travel, where the only thing scarier than tentacle monsters is a high deductible.

It is so over the top and absurd, it’s awesome!

I wasn’t expecting much out of the title, but ended up being the best audible original I have listened to. Give it a try!

What did I listen to?

Want a nerdy sci-fi story that makes fun of nerds? How about a story that slowly reveals it's politics til that is all? it started out all so well, but sad is reduced to celebrity cameos and jokes as it runs to the finish line.

Someone owes me a new keyboard

This is the funniest thing I've heard in years, and Adam Baldwin's performance only makes it better. His mastery of the Manatee language is unparalleled. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to listen to it again.

A diatribe of the author's political views

Larry Correia's politics are an actual subject of discussion in SF circles - google "Larry Correia politics" if you don't believe me. Frankly, I don't care. His views are his views. My views are my views. If we agree, fine. If we don't, fine. I read and listen to SF for enjoyment, relaxation, escapism, etc. I've listened to his books in the past and really enjoyed them. This one, however, devolves into a screed against liberal politics and millennials. If I had wanted politics, I'd have read the news. Frankly, if I hadn't gotten this one as a monthly freebie, I'd ask for my money back.

Most Unlikely Hero Ever!

I just finished listening to this and am not quite sure what hit me.

Larry Correia has invented the most unlikely hero ever: an insurance agent dedicated to satisfying his customers' insurance needs because poor customer service is the ultimate sin. If you can suspend your disbelief and wrap your mind around THAT wild idea, you are in for an equally wild ride.

Garfield the Cat is a Dark God, Bear Grylls is a metric, Chuck Norris is a KickA** Arbiter and Terminators are people too. Many of our favorite sci-fi heroes and shows make cameo appearances, including the author himself.

Of course the hero has his burden to bear: the intern with the gender-studies degree. But Tom Stranger carries on with panache.

Adam Baldwin was terrific. You need to listen to this. Now.

Great voice acting with humorous storyline. Entirely too political in unnecessary ways for my liking, however. Overall, not bad, but will not be in a rush to listen again.

Funny but a little over the top

Not sure if right wing or right wing satire. Funny though. Thick skins required to enjoy the book. Sounds like Sean Hannity hired someone with a sense of humor. Much eye rolling along the way.

Adam Baldwin is amazing!

The writing is intentionally goofy, cliched, and riddled with pop culture references that will quickly become outdated.

The story is pretty bleh, and a much too pulpy for my liking. That being said, the book is obviously an irreverent, silly romp not meant to be taken seriously.

The bottom line: Adam Baldwin does a phenomenal job voicing the cast in this. He props up the cheesy writing and weak story with great energy and distinct character changes. Baldwin has phenomenal pacing and takes the overall experience from a 1 to a 3.

Insurance of the future

This was a fabulous romp through the space time continuum. Adam Baldwin was spot on as the narrator and brought a lot of fun and verve to the story. I do not want to spoil this in any way because there are so many twists and turns that you just have to hold on for the ride. Get this book- you will not regret it in any of the various timelines!

Ridiculous, but fun

really enjoyed this except for the extremely overt political commentary. not that i care about the commentary, it was so pointed though it became a detractor. otherwise really enjoyed this ridiculous romp of a book.

Superb Laugh Out Loud High-Speed, Utter Absurdity!

This one does exactly what it says on the tin, if you like the sound of the publisher’s blurb you are going to love it. Inter-space hi jinks and an insurance agent super hero. The humour is constant. The opening scenes had me laughing from the get go and the laughter continued with impressively high frequency for the whole two hours.

If you get this kind of humour then it’s great fun and Master Correia drags in many well-known personalities and even finds time to poke fun at himself in a variety of ways. One person that definitely gets the humour is Adam Baldwin who gives it the full Scooby Doo and no mistake!

Nothing is sacred, most of Europe and Asia is gone within the first ten minutes and everyone from John Wayne to a Balrog gets dragged in during this all-too-brief adventure. The Balrog’s “predicament” I found seriously funny along with the help system on the Combat Wombat!

On top of all that it’s free, at least for now! What can possibly go wrong? If you want a laugh just get it. The only people I wouldn’t recommend this to are call centre managers . . .

Brilliant and Witty with brain on or off :)

So having listened to some pretty heavy sci-fi recently i really needed someone lighter to listen to and this appeared so i though i would give it a try. I was hooked from the start. Its very very very funny on a lot of levels and you really dont need to plug your brain in to listen. Not that its not clever.

I would recommend this for anyone who likes things likes things like Hitchhiker Guide to the Galaxy or Any of the Jim Butcher books.

Easy Listening

Choose to listen to this to get a break from the usual Fantasy and Sci-Fi epics that are my usual ear food. I wasn't disappointed, it's great fun with a lot off nerdy humour that fits me perfectly. A bit short though, but well worth the modest price.

Overall, more than adequate

Loved the humor, but the story/plot lost my interest for a bit in the middle. Did draw me back with referencing MHI, fans and concealed weapons.
