Publisher's summary

It was supposed to be a fun day, shopping at the mall with her best friend. Then the panic attack started and Kaylee Cavanaugh finds herself screaming, unable to stop. Her secret fears are exposed, and it's the worst day of her life ... until she wakes up in the psychiatric unit.

She tries to convince everyone she's fine - despite the shadows she sees forming around another patient and the urge to scream that comes burbling up again and again.

Everyone thinks she's crazy. Everyone except Lydia, that is. Another patient with some special abilities....

A digital-only prequel to Rachel Vincent's Soul Screamers series.

Soul

The story has no end, so I assume you have to buy all the books in the series?

Ended to soon

You know how some books have a slow start because you need to build some kind of background before it can start. Then at the end you get that feel good feeling that makes you smile? Don't expect that. This book ended just as you got the feeling the meat of the story would start in a few chapters.
I am still going to give it a chance and get the next book. I just hope it is not going to do that thing where the next book shifts to a new character just to do the same thing again. If you can't tell from my review, the book leaves you feeling unsure and depressed at the end. I will probably regret this review. I should have waited for that feeling to dissipate before I started this review.
