Award-winning psychologist Jonathan Haidt, the author of The Righteous Mind, shows how a deeper understanding of the world's philosophical wisdom and its enduring maxims can enrich and even transform our lives.

In Areté, Brian Johnson integrates ancient wisdom, modern science, and practical tools to, as per the sub-title of the book, help you activate your Heroic potential and fulfill your destiny. If you asked the ancient stoic philosophers how to live a good life, they’d answer you in a single word: Areté. We translate Areté as “virtue” or “excellence” but the word has a deeper meaning—something closer to being your best self moment to moment to moment.

In this stunning audiobook, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers" - the best and the brightest, the most famous, and the most successful. He asks the question: What makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: That is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

The Motivation Manifesto is a pulsing, articulate, ferocious call to claim our personal power. World-renowned high performance trainer Brendon Burchard reveals that the main motive of humankind is the pursuit of greater Personal Freedom. We desire the grand liberties of choice - time freedom, emotional freedom, social freedom, financial freedom, spiritual freedom.

so so ok
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I've read a lot of these type books and like others its mostly common sense so I would not recommend to a friend unless this was the first book of this type they had ever read.

Interesting and Practical
I found this book to be a good mix of studies and application. The last chapter on feedback was nothing new to me.

Better than Good
I can't believe how much info this book packs on goals, motivation to even giving others feedback. May be the best book on goals I have ever read. Narrator is outstanding too!

Some books are so good that you have to buy a hard copy to pass on. This is one of them.

Success... At Last
Finally... A book about goals and success that makes some sense. There' so much nonsense out there. This is without a doubt worth several listens.

Insightful impact.
This book had a tremendous impact on the way I approach and think about a myriad of things. Today at work several of my co-workers and my boss engaged in a discussion on many of the topics in this book. This book is a must read as it has the potential to be life changing because of the way it changes one's thinking.
