Publisher's Summary

Gavin Guile is dying.

He'd thought he had five years left - now he has less than one. With 50,0000 refugees, a bastard son, and an ex-fiancée who may have learned his darkest secret, Gavin has problems on every side. All magic in the world is running wild and threatens to destroy the Seven Satrapies. Worst of all, the old gods are being reborn, and their army of color wights is unstoppable. The only salvation may be the brother whose freedom and life Gavin stole 16 years ago.

Good book and good narrator

I'm sure it's nothing that hasn't been said already but Brent weeks is one of the More entertaining authors in the business right now and he's only getting better with time in fact he's one of those rare offers that you can see progressing from book to book in a way that you can appreciate and that blows you away.

Great followup

It was much more than I thought it would be and a great 2nd chapter in the story. It flowed well and it kept you interested not only in the story but also in the characters that the author created. I couldn't stop listening and had great fun going through the book. Be warned there are some parts of the book that for some reason haven't been included the most glaring in chapter 90. Overall great book.

The world Brent has created is so vast and so different than anything else I've ever read. It really pulls you in, once you start you can't stop.

Best Fiction in Years

This series is the best fiction I've read in years. the world is thought out and feels real. the characters have depth, motivations, and flaws that are believable. If you are a fan of fantasy this is a must read!
