Publisher's summary

Paralysed by the continued ork invasion of Imperial space, the rulers of Terra continue to fight among themselves. Finally losing patience with the High Council, Koorland - the last surviving Imperial Fist - ousts the Lord Commander and seizes control.

Elsewhere, the Fists Exemplar are forced by circumstance to fight alongside the Iron Warriors. Where will such an alliance lead - can a Traitor Legion ever be trusted?

Low Point

Yes it moves the storyline forward but it doesn’t capture the moment it was written to show us. It just kinda sags.

side story filler

Not directly furthering the great beast storyline, till the end of the boom. Instead this book gives more atmosphere and side plots for characters from the last book. The Ork diplomats already mentioned humans were for eating, when they invaded terra, reminds me to much of the garro horus storyline and just reinstating the norms of space marines vs choas marines in behaviour and thoughts.

The Beast Is Great!!

The beast arises series is quite fantastic, this is my second listen through the series and it's even better than the first due to more extensive knowledge of the 40K universe

Just a side story

I enjoyed this book as the previous ones, but this one feels filler-ish. It moves the story forward, which is fine for me though.

couldn't even finish

it is rare for this to happen for me, the only other times were with the nightlords books. not the story I just couldn't hear it for the poor narration If you can't do the accident then just don't do it at all. You? Don't sound like you're doing a poor impression of making fun of somebody.
This book I just I don't know it's all... I don't know matters will be doggerel i'm a huge Imperial fist fan an iron warrior's super fan And the beast series is by far been one of my absolute favorites. I enjoy it more than heresy This book though d**n....

The series low point

The trouble with this story is that it feels completely rushed and very little happens.

The space combat between ships is muddled and makes no sense. Compare this to earlier entries in the series (The Emperor Expects) that did an excellent job. The characters had to keep telling the audience who they were and what they were about over and over. Combined with the reader had the worst voices to the pint of being comical and distracting.

in tend of plot you can read the synopsis and get everything you need-cause believe me, the book doesn't go into any more depth. I'm serially consisting quitting the series after this.

Good performance, middling story

So far in the series this is the least engaging one. The narrator does a good job portraying the characters and gives a depth to them i think would be lost otherwise, but the writing is lacking much. A lot of similar descriptions of things and events, but little actual content and what there is does not reach memorable levels making it kinda hard to follow, since it all just flows into a blur.
