An Adepta Sororitas Audiobook

Sister Superior Augusta of the Order of the Bloody Rose and her squad find themselves battling a Genestealer Cult with its claws under the planet’s skin – and racing to prevent the arrival of a Tyranid Hive Fleet.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Sister Augusta of the Order of the Bloody Rose returns in a new Adepta Sororitas novel and must fight to prevent one of the Emperor’s own favoured worlds from becoming prey for the Tyranids.

THE STORY

Opal is a gleaming shrine world of saints and soldiers, beloved of the Emperor Himself. Sent to retrieve the skull of the revered Saint Veres, Sister Superior Augusta of the Order of the Bloody Rose and her squad find themselves in the midst of the capital’s holiest festival, a time of reverence and celebration. But all is not well – despite what its planetary leaders would have Augusta believe, political danger bubbles under the surface, and rebel attacks gnaw away at the city’s outskirts. The greatest threat, however, is yet to come.

As it becomes horrifyingly apparent that a Genestealer Cult has its claws under the planet’s skin, the Sisters realise that can mean only one thing: a hive fleet is on its way to Opal, bringing with it the planet’s doom.

ONE OF THE BEST PERIOD.

I have listened to well over a hundred Warhammer novels and can safely say this is one of the best. this author is a game changer. I hope we get more from him and more of this story!!

wow simply a master class in story telling

during the Christmas holiday they had all the Warhammer books on sale so I decided to buy over a hundred of them and out of the 40 plus that I've listened to so far this has got to be the best one Iso far. Not only did the author do a tremendous job and writing it, but I have to give credit to the narrator. She brought this book to life and deserves to be recognized by the Emperor beloved by all.

loved the way she sang the litanies as the sister's burned the heretics!

The performance in this audio book is excellent. each character feels distinct. overall the story was good not great. my main problem comes in the slow start (which is devoted to world building so if you really like a lot of detail on the planet and it's culture then you might really enjoy that part admittedly. For me, I understand that this is a 40k story, so I could've done with half as much of that expecting it to end up grimdark) and more importantly the repetitiveness of the middle. When you begin to hear how greed and beurocrasy have undermined virtually every institution it's great 40k stuff and that's when I really started to enjoy the story, however it feels like the sister superior is having the same exact conversation multiple times and though that would actually be realistic in life, in an entertainment medium it comes off as page filler. that being said this was very entertaining and have me what I was looking for in a sister's of battle story! I'll be looking into the other books in this series for sure!

The singing of the battle hymns was immersive!

This was an enjoyable listen. This was my first Sororitas novel and it did not disappoint.

Sisters, Genestealers, and Tyranids

Overall a good listen. I wish there was more with the Tyranids, but I am a fan of the nids. Also would have like more with the Genestealers… but it was a Sisters focus book. 7 to 8 out of 10.

Cool premise, good performance

I enjoyed this a lot! The setting of a hive world during a major festival is a great backdrop for the story, which is not particularly original but is executed well enough that I was never bored. As a fan of The Rose at War, it was great to get a longer story of Augusta and her squad. The narrator did a great job. Overall, I do recommend this, especially so if you're a Sisters of Battle fan and want some solid action with some intrigue in the side.

Fresh, engaging, and left wanting more of this content!!

A thrilling tale filled with twists and turns. Characters are interesting and not just imperial automatons. The cult is utilized to its fullest. Would love to see more engaging stories like this from black library. Great voice performance as well!

the story was fantastic with a wonderful voice actress who did a beautiful performance.

some confusion between paragraphs when switching between characters but very minor issues. For the entire book it did not diminish the story

Decent story

I very much disliked how the Sisters of Battle took so much disrespect from the local planetary government and just took it even though they knew there was so much stuff going wrong with the planet. Story was decent and please stop singing in the audiobooks.
