Publisher's Summary

Asher Henderson. Captain of the Highnam Academy football team, and the bane of my existence.

As Alstone High’s team captain, I’ve been pitted against him from the beginning, but our conflict isn’t only reserved for the pitch. Everyone knows we’re enemies. From our first encounter, our rivalry has been escalating, spiraling out of control. Until one night when everything between us changed.

He pushed me too far, and we crossed a line that should never have been crossed. Now, I can’t get him out of my head. Can we ever be more than rivals, or are there too many obstacles in our way? One thing I know for sure. Things between us will never be the same again.

Savage Rivals is a stand-alone M/M new adult high school romance with enemies-to-lovers and gay-awakening themes. This audiobook contains mature situations and content.

Note: Originally included in the Brutal Boys on Devils Night collection, this edition of Savage Rivals has been expanded with additional content.

Awesome

What can I say that I didn’t say as above? AWESOME story. Yes a little unrealistic and no way high school age but I don’t care. I just loved everything about this book. The two narrators were perfect. Wish they worked together again. They made this story come to life with love and emotions. I just loved these two boys. Best book in 8 months. And trust me I’ve read a lot but this one …….perfection. More like it please.

Fantastic Story & Listen🎧 Gripping & Smoking🔥Hot

Becca Steele continues to wow me with another amazing enemies to lovers romance, the story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end. The lead characters, Asher and Levi, are on their school’s football teams and are rivals, each team tries to outdo the other in shenanigans and pranks to get under their skin. The tension between could be cut with a knife, but they soon realize there is chemistry between them and it does not take them long to realize it, the back-and-forth banter turns into foreplay and when they finally give into the feeling, it is explosive. This is a fantastic, bi-awakening, gay for you, M/M new adult romance, it is a wonderfully plotted story with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Becca Steele, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, James Joseph and Will Watt did a great job bringing these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit their character’s persona perfectly, and were believable in every role they played. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance and had you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. They made a great team and their narration enhances the story to another level. Thank you for another fantastic listen.

High school going on mid twenties

First off, the narration was excellent and saved the story. I really get annoyed at books that are supposedly about highschoolers and the characters are written as if they are in their mid-20s. Why not just place them in their mid-20s and ship the story it it just a lot of it didn’t add up or make any sense for adolescence. I did like the attraction between the main characters I just found the story unrealistic.

Hot Rivals!

This m/m bully romance/enemies to lovers was off the charts hot! The tension and heat from Asher and Levi was endlessly entertaining and so sexy. This book perfectly showcased how that hot anger can turn to fierce passion! Can’t wait to read and listen to more from Becca!

The narrators were amazing! The duet style is perfect!

They are British! Can it be any sexier???

I must admit that while I've been reading Becca's books for a while now, my brain has been a bit slow on the uptake when it comes to the Audible versions. They are British. This means the narrators are also British. This automatically adds a steamy hot pepper to the ratings scale! James and Will are so good. and I really really loved that this was a dual narration, meaning they spoke their characters lines no matter if it was a Levi or an Asher chapter. I love this. I get that it's more difficult, but listening to a narrator read both lines (especially when it's a MF book) is really distracting.

As for the book, DAMN!!! So hot. A classic high school age (young adult really as they are both 18) enemies-to-lovers. They are also from different socio-economic backgrounds. Levi from a privileged family; Asher from a lower class and raised by a single mom. Levi's parents are gone a lot, but unlike many other stories, they aren't awful parents. They love him, they are simply gone for work a lot.

I wouldn't say this is a bully romance. Levi and Asher are rivals with friends that like to prank the other group. The tension comes when those pranks start to escalate as Levi and Asher find themselves facing their attraction to each other. There's also no express homophobia rearing its ugly head. They guys have amazing friends and the HEA (especially the epilogue) leaves you sated and happy! Now to get more .....

Amazing!

I didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did. I agree with over reviewers that some things are a bit unrealistic in that they are high school age but I easily overlooked that because I fell madly and deeply with the storyline and characters. I 100% didn’t want it to end, and want more Levi and Ash!

Savage Rivals was everything I was hoping it'd be!

4/5 ⭐ OVERALL
3/5 🌶 STEAM

"I closed the space between us and kissed him forcefully. There was a second when time seemed to stop, and then — He kissed me back."

If you enjoy:
- MM Romance
- Enemies to Lovers
- Sports (Soccer)
- High School
- Spice

If the above interests you and you're looking for a quick and engaging read... look no further! Savage Rivals is enemies to lovers perfection. I loved every second of the rival between Asher and Levi. Then, the undeniable attraction between the two... well, that brought this book to another level.

This is definitely a character driven novel with a strong rivalry that goes back and forth. I'd say it's low on the angst, but this book didn't need angst to be good. The enemies to lovers trope was strong enough to keep you needing more. And, those steamy scenes... 🔥 🥵

I listened to the audiobook and highly recommend it. It was narrated by James Joseph and Will Watt. If you enjoy listening to men with an English accent, then you won't be disappointed with this one!

Happy Listening! 💙

What a way to ring in 2023!

I hadn't ended 2022 on the best note in terms of books read/listened but I definitely started 2023 on the right foot! I absolutely adored this M/M sports romance by Becca Steele! I have loved this author's M/F books and I loved her Cross the Line M/M novella so I knew this would be great but its probably gonna be one of my favorite reads/listens of the year and its only the 2nd day of the year so far haha.

The 2 captains for rival soccer (or football for outside of the US haha) teams had amazing tension and chemistry right off the bat. The more time they were fighting, being in each other's presences the more the heat boiled until it was too much and they had to act on their feelings. The attraction was palpable and I loved how their feelings grew over time. They were so adorable but the steam was off the chart! I love M/M, totally my guilty pleasure, and sometimes it feels more natural and real than some of the M/F or RH romances I read/listen to. Don't ask me why, it might be that guys sometimes are more blunt with their feelings (once they finally admit them haha) but I loved how raw this love felt, how they couldnt help orbiting each other, they were like magnets and the more they fought the harder the pull was. I liked how Asher would bring Levi down to earth and Levi would show Asher mattered despite where he comes from/what he has done. I liked how there wasn't a whole bit about coming out like hiding it from everyone (like a drawn out one that sometimes M/M can have). They weren't ashamed of each other or their attraction to the same sex despite not exhibiting any feelings for men previously. I just thought the pace was great, the steam and plot were well done. I also LOVED the epilogue, the tattoos made me swoon so hard. I know this is a book I will reread or relisten to again and again, it will bring me out of my reading funk/help put a smile to my face with the guys antics with each other and their amazing love story. Fabulous job by Becca, this just skyrocketed to my favorite book of yours ❤️

In terms of narration, this duet narration was fabulous, if I could give it more than 5 stars I would have. Both male narrators did an amazing job with their performances, really bringing the guys to life and capturing their personalities. I am not sure who did which haha but I loved the innocence of Levi and the sometimes brash and hard edges of Asher. I could feel the love between these two and the narration just heightened it and elevated the story so much. Will definitely be listening to more of these narrators again. FYI, I did listen at 1.5X.

Fantastic MM audiobook

Levi and Asher's story was quite good, sports romance is one of my favorite tropes for MM stories, and this one will have you reading it in o time, I love Becca's writing, the way she describes everything really drags me into the book world. The enemies to lovers with some angst was a cherry on top for me, it really gets to you in a good way. Bravo! The narrations by James Joseph and Will Watt was fantastic, well edited and good sound quality. Their pronunciation and acting was spot on.

A really good audio to listen to

The book was good, not great, but the narration made it all the way better.

Instead of a simple enemies to lovers, the author chose rivals to lovers. That meant that not only the main characters couldn’t bear each other, but they were also riled up by the people around them. Asher and Levi are in rival football team–football as in its European meaning of soccer. They start off on the wrong foot until they’re playing not funny pranks on each other’s team with the help of their teammates. Because of that, they think of the other non stop. Though they have no idea what’s happening, we as reader already know that something else is going on. The fun is seeing how they’ll get to the same conclusion.

There’s a lot of lust at the beginning. Frankly, I had trouble seeing anything else for a long time. They’re young men, horny pretty much all the time, so that they end up experimenting with each other didn’t seem strange. But we get several conversation when they discover they get each other–the pressure to succeed with their team, life as high schooler, being young men in search of their sexuality… They slowly form a connection, and I was all for that.

As it’s basically the story of two men experiencing their bisexuality, intimacy is an important part of the book. It sure was sexy. I had a hard time with the feeling it was an ‘intercourse check list’. You know, first we do something soft, then we experiment further, etc. Until we get all the way. It sort of made sense, but still bothered me a bit.

The whole high school experience was quite spot on. The troubles in class. The pressure. The relationships with friends and teammates. There weren’t a lot of adults though.

Done in duet narration, the audio was excellent. Both narrators are British, so the accents were great. And they were perfect for the characters. Asher was cocky, Levi more reserved. A really good audio to listen to, really.

MM Enemies-To-Lovers Romance

Savage Rivals by Becca Steele is a MM enemies-to-lovers high school romance that I listened to on audio narrated by James Joseph and Will Watt.

I absolutely love Becca’s books! I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Asher and Levi. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

James and Will did an amazing job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like MM romances, enemies-to-lovers romances, sports romances, or contemporary romances.

So hot!

Savage Rivals by Becca Steele
Narration by James Joseph and Will Watt

Holy Hotness!

I listened to books where it mentions these two but wowza these two story is ultra hawt!

Steamy sensuality is what this this book is. First enemies then a whole lot of hotness! If there was ever a couple who needed to be together! This was so hot! I really enjoyed hearing more of Asher and Levy after hearing about them in prior books. So happy for their exclusive story.

Wow the depth of revenge in high school! Yes it was intense but the fact that these two overcome the world around them and the freedom of being together was awesome!

Really impressed with the performances but both James Joyce and Will Watt n this steamy story!

You definitely will need to hear if you enjoy bully romance or same sex romance.

There’s a fine line between love and hate.

Savage Rivals is an enemies to lovers MM sports romance.
Asher and Levi are from rival school football teams.

This book has everything you need and love in a romance. Drama, angst and hate mixed with lust.

A very easy read. The characters and plot flow well. I really enjoyed it and binge read in one sitting. If you’re like me an a sucker for enemies to lover then this is a read for you

I loved the audiobook narration. Having already read the book when it originally released I was keen for as reread. So naturally I waited for the audiobook. James and Will absolutely brought these characters to life.
