Haunting Beauty book one of the Mate Games: Death series was just a teaser of things to come in book two Hunted Beast.

An asylum is where this series takes place so far and if you think you know what to expect with an asylum setting you couldn't be more wrong! It is like a gothic fairytale had bedroom time with a smutty paranormal romance and this is the result. Dark, sexy, and full of new twists and turns you could never have begun to predict.

Dahlia is finally learning exactly who has her back and who doesn't but the most surprising was Shadow Daddy... IYKYK. J.F. Harding brought Cain to the front and center of this story with his past that not only haunts him but also somehow haunts our girl too. When those secrets are revealed, you are not going to be prepared for that outcome.

I could be wrong on this front, but I do think that Kai and Tor are going to form the most unlikely of bromances. When John Hartley and Jason Clarke start their banter, it is the most delicious of accents you won't know what to do with yourself because it is like the most delicious game of ping-pong EVER!!

James Joseph as Hook or rather Caspian was such a delight! I was kind of in awe at how much he was able to bring this character to life. Then the characters arc throughout this book was just outstanding. You can't help but root for the delightfully naughty pirate.

Of course, we can't forget our leading lady, Stella Hunter. She never disappoints and I do have to say bravo to Kim and Meg for giving us a plus-size heroine who is not down on herself constantly. She owns what she has, and her men have absolutely zero problems with all that she has going on.

Samantha Brentmoor really nailed Dr. Masterson and Kiki. In the first book I was all about Dr. Masterson but this time it was Kiki. She is the best friend we all long to have. I really am hoping that we get her HEA at some point.

Okay, I've gone on long enough about my love for this book, but I do have to say that the added mystery with our resident serial unaliver takes this book to the next level. Hateful Prince is up next and I am just dying to see where this story goes!!

why's booktok not all over this?

Why is nobody else talking about this series? And this author honestly, I came for the cast. They sold it. I had when in totally blind had no idea what this would be about and I LOVE it. I LOVE it so much that I've pre-ordered the next one and I've Begun reading The previous sets and I love them. Why is nobody else talking about the mate games? It's awesome and this cast utterly kills it and brings this book to life. And it's the same cast for the other sets.. I'm so excited and I'm probably gonna get my credit are taken away.

That being said...I LOVE this whole series, the Mate Games But I can't stand this female character& I HATE her friend kikee or whatever. it literally pains me to leave this review, but if you've loved the first 2 sets you'll still enjoy this one. sorry that's all I can do until the last installment of this series & fingers crossed the final set will be better
this FMC is STUPID, like a southern "bless your heart" stupid & the friend is so annoyingly thirsty it's disgusting even though this is a RH🤨...

Full Cast Duet Narration perfection

The entire mate games series is perfect fun. This one did not disappoint. I would suggest starting from the first mate games series for the best experience but I don’t think it’s necessary for these two books. All the stories are intertwined if you read them together. I love the female lead in this one. Her best friend is pretty awesome too. And as always the guys are swoon worthy. Even the assholes. Including the dog asshole 😉 the spice level is like 3.5 🌶️. I give this whole series 5 stars because they are just good fun.

Ugh…. I think this storyline had become my absolute favorite!! Seriously every book has gotten better and better!

Amazing Narrations

When I accidentally stumbled upon this series I fell instantly in love with the 1st book. The second book while still good it was too much porn. and don't get me wrong I like sex but it was overly done . to the point I'm skipping pass scenes to get to the story, which felt like 15 mins of story and 30 mins of sex in each chapter. im gonna read the rest of the series but I hope the author finds a good balance of sex to story ratio. Narrations was just as amazing as the 1st book.
