Publisher's Summary

Attacked by werewolves. Mated to the Alpha. Declared a queen. Kari is having an unusual day.

In the Cherchez wolf pack, loyalty is earned, not given. For Andreas, the pull he feels toward Kari cannot be ignored, a physical bond immediate and unbreakable - though Andreas wants to win Kari's heart as well as her body. But someone isn't happy about his new mate, and Kari's just beginning to trust him and the pack when attempted murder threatens their newfound happiness.

Andreas brings out the deepest hunger in Kari, a sexy, passionate side of her she never knew was there. And her new life as werewolf queen is turning out to be surprisingly emotional in other ways as well. The bond she feels with Andreas extends to the others in the pack - others she's now bound to defend.

And as the pack's enemies are about to discover, Kari will do anything to protect her new family.

    "Great Shift story! Loved it!"

As a big Lauren Dane fan I was very excited to see this come to Audio. As always I was not disappointed! I love a good steamy shifter book.

Andreas is the Alpha, he is completely protective & in love with his true mate. Kari was a human but after being changed she meets Andres, her true mate and her world completely changes. She comes into her role as Alpha with fists flying. These two have a great love affair and the love they share for their family and pack is awe-inspiring. This book has it all with love, hot sex, action, friendships and family bonds. I can't wait for book 2!

Summer Morton did a great job narrating this book. She has a great voice for both the male & female characters.

    "Loved Book 1"
What was one of the most memorable moments of Wolf's Ascension?

The most memorable moments for me are 2-

1- Kari made her first kill within moments of becoming a wolf. I mean DAMN..these female wolves are no joke.
2- How could the pack NOT make more of an effort to determine who the traitor was? There were too many attempts that seem to have gone unchallenged by the pack and the enforcers for them to have been against the Alpha pair.

    Any additional comments?

I really liked AND it was really amazing. My only issue with the books was the factthat as Alpha wolves, they were not very smart in determining who the trader was amongst the pack...otherwise, I loved it.

Kari and the Cherchez clan are my new favorite pack. I loved the smooth transition between English and French (how sexy)..Andreas is one sexy Alpha who is instantly smitten with Kari and her lineage. He is desperate to provide pups, but loves the added bonus that he finally found his mate too. Kari took to her new revelation of being a were-wolf remarkably quick. She already has her first kill within hours of becoming a wolf..and then becomes pregnant even quicker. Obviously this group is ready to get moving on the love train.

Book 1 is a nice introduction to the group and the "higher up's" that additional books will be created..Kari makes an awesome Alpha female...and the sexual chemistry amongst the pack will make for some great stories to come.

    "What is the deal?"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

    Sex-starved teens, perhaps?

What could Lauren Dane have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

How about more story and less about their sexual organs. My goodness, the vulgarity of it all. So many C-words thrown around within a few sentences. I was looking for a novel, not porn. Juicy this, wet that, giant hard things over here...just what is happening? How in any way is this relevant to the story? You can say they had a feral attraction without the long, drawn-out sex scenes. I forced myself through to chapter 6 or so and it was just too much. I had such high hopes, the opening was solid enough, the characters are fairly likable, but so much wasted potential.

What about Summer Morton’s performance did you like?

She is well spoken and, as far as an ignorant person can tell, she has good French pronunciation.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Utter disappointment.

    Any additional comments?

Ladies. When you are writing a book, please remember that there are those that want to read a story and not everyone needs 2-5 pages from every chapter to be graphic sex scenes.

    "Wow, fantastic story"

This new wolf shifter series is great. It has it all from hot sex, girl fights, humor, suspends and much more!!! All female have sass and swagger love it, which in turn drives the Alpha males crazy. There are several books out I suggest start at the begging so you can keep up with all the couples dramas.. The narrator did an excellent job. So worth the credit

    Story
"It just didn't have that spark...."

I really tried to like this book. I am a wolf fan but this book was just missing that spark. 50% was due to the story and 50% was due to the narrator.

Andreas, the leader in this pack, definitely lacked the alpha vibe thing that make me swoon to have a wolf by my side. Sure he was assertive when needed in the bedroom but outside, I felt that his brother or his mother or his mate hell even the nurse at the hospital was more dominant and assertive than he was. Now add the narrator in to this flaw and he just isn't the alpha I would want to dream about. First, he has a french background so why is the narrator very English? I mean some of his endearments were in french. Narrated in English, it really sounds ridiculous.... sigh

Next the heroine, fighter that she was, did a 360 flip in a week. From refusing to believe in wolves to madly in love after her shift? I have no problem with mates knowing they are destined to be with a wolf but if the author wanted it to be believable, why drag out the fight, only to have the heroine give in just because she saw a human transform? Seriously, normal people don't just accept the unknown even if they see it with their own eyes. There should have been more to the development of this transition. Additionally, I really hate it when authors make the female leads give up everything for the sake of a mate... yet the male lead, does give up one bit other than his womanizing ways!

Finally, I get lust, I understand the need for lust especially in a wolf book but really? Sex cannot solve everything. The part that put me off, the heroine if forced to explain her past relationship in detail (of course the hero doesn't have to do the same!) the next thing the hero is so overcome with lust that he has to have her that moment.Oh! and in the back of his mind he has a mental conversation that this would be an ideal time to tell her of yet ANOTHER possible pycho ex before he blows her mind away with sex... but nope,.. he decides sex is more important... fast forward a few events later and he still hasn't told her but hey at least he is having a blast having sex with his mate who is madly in love with him and he claims to love her just as much... once again the heroine gives...gives...gives and the hero gives just enough.

All the little things just keep piling on and by the end, I was really sad that the story line didn't deliver as expected.

"Get A Room! This is too much!"

This could have been a great book but the author seemed to need a sex scene in every chapter. It was so much that it took away from the story.
