Great Read

Any additional comments?

The Housekeeper's Proposal by Barbara Goss was a great read. Everyone is blaming Jeremy Walker for killing his wife Helen Walker. The sheriffs sister, Kate, decides to apply for the job of Jeremy's housekeeper. She wants to find him guilty but doesn't realize she will end up searching for the real killer. She neve suspects who really killed Helen. I absolutely loved reading this book. I can't wait to read more by Barbara Goss.

A Nice Christian Mystery/Romance

Would you listen to The Housekeeper's Proposal again? Why?

Sure. It was a nice easy listen, and a decent faith-based (Christian) suspense with some romance that is clean and not all trashy like a lot of those romance novels.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved the Marshal...He was a no nonsense guy, and I especially loved when he said he needed to go to headquarters in Ft. Smith, Arkansas--because I live in Arkansas. ;)

What about Roberto Scarlato’s performance did you like?

I think he did a good job portraying each character in a different manner that was suitable to each one.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I listened to it all at once, It's only 4 1/2 hours so I listened while I worked on other stuff. That's one of the best things about audiobooks, is that you can listen while you are doing other things unlike actually reading where you have to sit and focus your attention on the actual reading material.

Clever who done it

As usual, Barbara Goss has written an impressive story that kept me enthralled to the very end. I just had to find out the who and the why of the murder but was kept guessing throughout.
There are so many twists and turns in this story and thank goodness they all come together to answer to your question, "who was the murderer?"
Of course there is a blossoming romance and I had to find out what would happen with that too.
I also enjoyed the narration by Roberto Scarlato and his voice acting is that good that one knows exactly which character is talking without having to think about it.
An audiobook version was provided by the author at no cost and this is my honest and unbiased review.

Lots of Good Drama

I got this ARC via audiobook boom. I enjoyed this story. Jeremy is a strong man and does what is right. He has good morals and is just what Kate needs. The entire story flows very well and shows mans flaws without being over dramatic. It also teaches the lesson of prayer. That is a powerful message. The sadness is overshadowed by the joy. The narration fit the story. He does each voice well and you can tell who is talking. Love this series and await the next book. I hope there are more than one more. There are lots of characters in the book who need their own story.

LOVED THIS BOOK FROM START TO FINISH!!

Where does The Housekeeper's Proposal rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of my favorites, I loved it! I loved the romance and that it was a clean romance novel! The suspense kept me on my toes the entire time and I never guessed the ending (which I usually do)I really loved this book!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I have to say that Jeremy and Kate are equally my favorites. Jeremy because he was so swoon worthy with his convictions and of course because he is so handsome :)

Which character – as performed by Roberto Scarlato – was your favorite?

Roberto did a wonderful job with all of the characters but again, my favorite would be his performance of Jeremy.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the entire book - I can't give away my favorite part because it would spoil it.

Any additional comments?

This book was so enjoyable for me from start to finish. I LOVE romance novels and I struggle to find books in this genre that are not all about sex. This book hit every mark - the romance was fantastic, the suspense kept me guessing until it was revealed and it kept me intrigued the entire time. This is my first time listening or reading Barbara Goss but it will definitely not be my last! I have found a new author to add to my favorites!Thank you for such a wonderful book!

The Housekeeper's Proposal

Barbara Goss has delivered another well written story. This story brings a bit of mystery and suspense as there is a murder to be solved. After entering into a loveless, forced marriage, Helen Walker is murdered... but did her new husband do it?

I thoroughly enjoyed Roberto Scarlato's narration.

A Western Cozy?

At the heart of this western romance is a murder mystery! As always, author Barbara Goss has created an interesting story with well-developed characters (why yes, I've become quite a fan!) and the whole is clearly narrated by Roberto Scarlato [AUDIO]. As the sins of past generations come forward to haunt their descendants, new evils arise. Women are little more than property--how can one aspire to become a deputy? And what happened to Helen Walker?

Kept Me Guessing..

Any additional comments?

This book was a great weekend read.

It was filled with mystery and a bit of romance.

There were several twists and turns but fortunately has a happy ending.

Mr Scarlato did well with the navigation.

Review

I love old time western romances and this one was really good because it also encompassed a murder mystery. As usual I was completely wrong about everything but that always adds to my enjoyment. One day I will get it right. I have to confess it was pretty clear near the end lol It was a romance made in heaven, I have seldom seen a couple more lovingly suited to each other. Now for me, I could really fancy the big hunky marshal who thinks he will get away with not getting caught!
