Publisher's Summary

A fever dream of desires fulfilled. Nestled in the shadow of the Appalachians is where Gwen Ashby stumbles upon the William Marshall Academy, and she's given a trial position as a literature teacher. The gothic boarding school seems trapped in time, yet it feels like home the moment Gwen arrives. She's charmed by the lovely buildings, bewitched by the eager students...and utterly seduced by the headmaster.

Edwin Yorke is noble, handsome, and infuriatingly proper. But his tweedy exterior and courtly manners conceal a raw, sensual power that Gwen longs to unleash. It's strangely thrilling to be the only woman on campus - save one other. An eerie, white-clad figure roams the grounds by night. She never speaks. She leaves no trace. But this ghostly blight on Gwen's new dream life is the key to the Marshall Academy's mysterious allure. A RITA Award-nominated title from international best-selling author Tiffany Reisz.

Outstanding Unexpected Ending Thought Provoking

This is a well written book. I can tell you that it will keep your interest from beginning to end! The story line is one that I've not heard before. The narration is perfect.
Headmaster is a story showing the results of one person actions and what can result in that. It's a book about forgiveness, of choice, and of love.
There may be subject matter that not all will agree is acceptable, however it doesn't change the end results of this book of lessons learned about life.
I would recommend it. I wouldn't regret using a credit or money on this book.~~Mona~~

Boring and insulting to your intelligence

What did you like best about The Headmaster? What did you like least?

I couldn't even finish this. The narrator tried, but the writing was just so poor that it was futile. Save your credit and money.

Absolutely loved it!

This novel is now one of my top ten favorites hands down. Romance, comedy, tragedy all in one and absolutely wonderful.

That ending though!

My first Reisz since the end of The Original Sinners and that series is so good it will be hard to beat! The Headmaster was just ok for me, the surprise ending made up for an unremarkable story and hideous narration!

Captivating!!

Loved this story! You begin to get a sense of what is different fairly early, but the story is so compelling, you can't put it down. This is a haunting love story told very well.

I could not put it down.

Any additional comments?

This book contains romance, funny dialogues. I felt as enchanted with this the school as Gwen. The Headmaster and the boys, they were all so endearing and just made you want to be a part of their little world.
Right off the bat there was chemistry between the two, and while Gwen was more open in her interest, there was no denying the feeling was mutual. Tempt him she did, until his control was hanging by a piece of thread.
With twists and turns along the way you never would guess where it is all heading... you just gotta sit back and enjoy the story for what it is.
