Publisher's summary

Maggie, the daughter of Moss and Bill Coleman, has invited all the passionate family, plus several hundred guests, to a July 4 barbecue to celebrate the new sense of family pride she's determined to forge. But whether it's ambition, jealousy, rivalry, or passion, each Coleman has a drama of his or her own to face, and each will feed the flames of Texas heat.

Good Series!

Fun to read and an interesting story. I enjoy Fern Michaels books, especially when she creates a series.

I read these books years ago

the book is amazing, as always. a few gaps, but of well.
the narration is horrendous. the accents are atrocious. My goodness, the southern and northern accents are like nails on a chalkboard.
I wish they used the Vegas series narrator for all of the Texas, Vegas, and Kentucky series!

Absolutely Abridged!

If I hadn't read these books a dozen times, I would have been completely confused right from the beginning of this second book. How did Maggie get possession of Sunbridge? How and when did Moss die? How and when did Billy and Thad finally get together and how did they end up in Vermont? When did Maggie marry Cranston? The whole part about Maggie working in a Museum is just missing. She went from Reily dying to 16 or 17 years later. I could go on with missing content for a whole page. There's SO much missing from the story, yet you claim it's unabridged. I'm very disappointed.

Great Story

I loved this book. The person reading the book was excellent. She really made you feel like you were part of the story. Heart felt and made you feel like theirs No Place like Home. I have Guly recommend this book along with the other Series.
