Pick a different narrator for this book

Actually, I listened to this book because I spend a lot of time in my car. From the very beginning, I thought I might have given the book a better rating if not for the narrator. Her voices for male characters were scratchy and irritating. Those passages felt to me like fingers on a blackboard. My take away from this experience is that I should try a sample of audible books before purchasing.

Like a character. Also, the narrator was not the best. Story ok. I kept waiting for another

Not up to her normal standards

I have a certain expectation when listening to my favorite authors. This story is not as well thought out with scattered juvenile comments that just are not doing it for me. I couldn’t finish. That’s a first for me when listening to Fern Michaels. I don’t care for the narrator. It sounds like her first performance. I’m so disappointed

Disappointing

I hadn’t listened to a Fern Michaels book in quite a while, but when I came across Deep Harbor, remembered how I enjoyed her books in the past, added it to my library, and looked forward to a few hours of getting lost in a new story. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy this book. The main character (C.J.) was so whiney and immature it was hard to believe that she held a position as important as Chief of Staff to a US Congressman. There was no conflict that couldn’t be overcome by C.J.’s staggering wealth, or some other contrived solution. The plot, solutions to problems, and final conclusion were implausible and boring. Very disappointed.

Just say no

I thought it was going to be a good chick book. I couldn’t get through the introduction of the gay relationship. I’m tired of it being thrown in my face on TV these days, which I choose not to watch, and I don’t want to listen to it either.

As good as the first half of the book was, the second half was awful. I thought I was listening to two different books. The heroine, CJ, was very interesting and dynamic in the first half, then becomes a limp air head in the second half. What a disappointment .

Outstanding from beginning to end!!!

It was impossible for me to stop listening once I started. The narrator is extremely talented and pleasant to listen to. The story is heartfelt, romantic and very caring all the way through. The ending was very unexpected but great as are many of Fern Michaels’ writings.

Wonderful book with entertaining story and likable characters. Another great one Fern Michaels! Enjoy readers!

Too cheesy

The premise description seemed up my alley, but the story ended up feeling shallow, the dialogue cheesy and unnatural and I found the protagonist irritating. The narration also grated on me, though I’m picky about narrators.
