Publisher's Summary

The hot new novel in the Black Dagger Brotherhood by the number-one New York Times best-selling author.

John Matthew has come a long way since he was found living among humans, his vampire nature unknown. Taken in by The Brotherhood, no one could guess what his true history was-or his true identity.

Xhex has long steeled herself against the attraction to John Matthew. Until fate intervenes and she discovers that love, like destiny, is inevitable.

Keep chilled: listen to more titles in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

    "LOVE J.R. WARD"

As usual, I got just what I expected and more from this book. Haven't read anything from J.R. Ward that I have not loved. Great narrator!

    "Love Zex and John!"

This is one of my favs in the series! I actually *miss* Zex and John. I hope they're in the next one!
The second half was better because more of the characters were involved.

Someone should look into the editing of the narration because it changes volumes/tones quite frequently, like it was recorded at multiple times and strung together. This may be the case, but it could be edited together better.

    "I Simply Love This Series!"

Okay, so what writer uses the slang, "conversate"? J.R. Ward, of course. She takes slang, the latest rap, blues and country music and blends it in with her manly man characters. For me, her writing is free and open minded. Now speaking of open-minded one of the male-to-male relationships may be uncomfortable for some, but I say, get over it becaise the segments make sense in the world of the "Black Dagger Brotherhood. Their world is different from ours, it's freer sexually however, there is dignity and respect involved when it comes to their mates. To really enjoy these books and the people who make up the world, you should start at book one. It's fun to hear how different characters grow up, change and overcome their haintous childhoods and cruel backgrounds. I really enjoyed how J.R. took us back in history with one character, referred to another doing a Ghost Hunter show and then told the story of the current character's dilemna, John. At the end she ties it all together. You go girl!!! Now for the performance. I think the audio editors really should get it together, truly.

During the second part you actually hear the editors in the background and the pauses between scene are way too long. This is not a movie, we do not need to wait five seconds before you show the next slide. Jim Frangione does much better in the latter books. Although you can still hear him attempt to quell his swallows (not talking about birds either). In the first book he swallowed a lot.

Inspite of the narration challenges, this will keep you interested.

"my favorite of the black dagger brotherhood"

This was my favorite of the black dagger brotherhood books. I think Jim Frangione is a fantastic performer and I am happy that he has done all of the Black Dagger Brotherhood books. These books are sexy, exciting and have fully developed fascinating characters. Love them - my favorite vampire books! actually my favorite series of any books!

    "Blackdagger Brotherhood Rocks! Love John!"

Finally John is all grown up and finally getting his very own story. I have totally been in love with John since book 2, really enjoyed this and soooooooo glad that she or publishing company has continued to use the same narrator, I believe this is important since they are familiar with characters and voices. Well done Jim.

    "ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!!"

This series was recommended to me because I became a paranormal romance reader/listener since the Twilight series. I was looking for something that was exclusively for adults, and THIS WAS IT!! I have listened to all J.R. Ward's BDB books and starting on her newest series. She is so talented and knows how to hook her audience. Everyone I have recommended the series to so far has been addicted!

    "Best in Series!!!!"

OMG!!!!!! - the build up in the previous books for John Matthew's story was big and hard to believe it could be lived up to, but J. R. Ward did it and it lived up to all you could want it to be. That boy is sex on a stick - yum, yum, yum!

    "Good series addition."

Storyline continues, effectively, the BDB series. We needed to see JM get his happy-ever-after. The narrator does a good job as well, but his pronunciations sometimes pull me out of the story. "No'one" is NOT pronounced "no own", it is "no wun"!

Otherwise, not a bad use of credits.
