Publisher's summary

Kissing her best friend's brother never felt so right...

Sela Sullivan is resolved to be the best maid of honor ever, even if it means tolerating the best man. Insufferable, too-handsome Luke Watters is not only the guy who humiliated her at a kissing booth in high school, but he also happens to be her best friend's older brother. Positive he's the same arrogant jock, Sela vows to focus on her duties and steer clear of the frustrating - and frustratingly tempting - Luke.

As a world-renowned extreme-sports photographer, Luke is used to undertaking life-risking adventures. But risking his heart for the beautiful Sela Sullivan, who clearly still hates him for his rejection all those years ago? He didn't see that coming. Sela inspires a passion he's never known, and the more time they spend together, the more he craves her. But can he prove to the maid of honor he's become a man of honor?

Great story but.....

Really enjoyed the book and the performance but toward the end the write used the phrase G@d D@mn. I thought that took away from the book. It wasn’t necessary and wasn’t used in anger or frustration. Just thought you didn’t have to use it so why add that to the writing.

Feel good (clean) romance

I’m not usually a big second chance romance story kind of girl, but this is the kind I like... if this can even be called a second chance romance. They were never together, but Sela was humiliated by Luke in front of the school when they were in high school. She always had a crush on him and he was a teenage boy who was caught off guard by the feelings she stirred in him in front of all his friends.

Like so many women do, she held a bit of a grudge and she never got over it. Well he comes back for his little sisters wedding and when he sees his sisters best friend Sela again for the first time in years, he is instantly attracted and spends the rest of the book trying to spend time with her.

I loved it. It was a great feel good story.

Cute Story

3.75 Stars for me

I did enjoy the story and liked that it was relatively low angst and drama. There is a lot of push/pull and some communication issues but it is a romance. This is technically a slow burn but both are lost for each other from the beginning of the story.

The sister and brother are both a bit selfish but everything works out in the end. 💐❤️😁.

For those that like fade to black in the bedroom, this could be your story although it is still between PG13 and R.

sweet

it was a sweet book that did not give a ton of details to the sex scenes, which was nice.

I wasn't supposed to enjoy kissing you...

What was one of the most memorable moments of Kissing the Maid of Honor?

Until now, I was an audiobook virgin. Part of the whole reading experience for me is hearing the characters voices in my head and immersing myself in their world as I envisage it, another is I have a tendency to drift when listening to someone talk for lengthy amounts of times - curse of the introvert, over-active wandering mind and all that. But Robin Bielman is one of my favourite authors and Kissing the Maid of Honor will always be a firm favourite as it was the one that introduced me to her; with a great storyline, endearing characters, humour, romance and heartwarming moments combined with those that pull on the heartstrings a little, it was the perfect book to introduce me to the world of using my ears as opposed to my eyes.

The narrator, Carly Robins, couldn't have been picked any better. She was the perfect voice for Sela and her portrayal of each of the secondary characters came across very well (particularly Shane, he has been my favourite character of the entire series). Sela and Luke were both wonderful easy to love realistic characters; she kind, compassionate and caring home bird who has never left her hometown and is determined to be the best Maid of Honour her best-friend Vanessa could wish for whilst he is her complete opposite; he’s travelled the world as a sports photographer, enjoys the more extreme of sports and dates like-minded women. Sela's best friend's big-brother, her brother Shane’s best-friend and the Best Man, he's also the guy who, ten years previously, told his buddies she ‘kissed like a corpse’. Needless to say there’s a touch of dislike there, her hurt has never gone away, nor can she forgive him. But Luke has returned home with a secret and Sela works it out...

The chemistry between them was perfectly emulated from written to audio, which if I'm honest I wasn't really expecting and I found myself laughing, smiling and feeling all warm and fuzzy at the self same moments I did when I read the book. Whether or not you're a seasoned listener of audiobooks, this is one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Good story but terrible narration

The storyline is predictable but good. But the narrator’s female voices were irritating and the make voices were worse.

Cute storyline

The story line was cute and the book moved along nicely... I struggled with the narrators’ male voices. They were really distracting.

Fabulous story!

I have read the book previously a couple of times and won a copy of the audible book. This did not disappoint. I could easily follow along with the story. The narrator did a great job doing the different voices. I laughed during some of the scenes and sighed in others. The story just pulled me in again. This was my first audible book and such a pleasant experience, I may have to try it again.
