Publisher's Summary

Twenty-year-old Clementine Avery doesn't mind being called bitchy and closed off. It's safe. And after being burned by her high school sweetheart and stalked by a professor her freshman year of college, safe sounds pretty damn good.

Her number-one rule for survival? No dating. That is until she accidentally signs up for a romance writing class and needs material for her latest assignment. Sexy RA Gavin Murphy is more than happy to play the part of book boyfriend to help Clem find some inspiration, even if that means making out...in the name of research, of course.

As Gavin and Clem grow closer, they get entangled in the mystery surrounding a missing Boston University student, and Clem unwittingly becomes a possible target. Gavin tries to show Clem she can handle falling in love again, but she knows she has to be careful because her heart's at stake...and maybe even her life.

Contains mature themes.

A sexy, swoony, emotional ride!

I’ve heard so many rave reviews about this series, and I decided it was time to dive in and experience it for myself. And I get it now: this story was completely addicting. It’s perfectly narrated and I was sucked right in. The storytelling is completely on point an I kept finding myself drawn back to it, making excuses to listen when I should have been doing something else.

I wasn’t sure what to make of Clementine aT first and it took me a little bit to warm to her. Gavin, on the other hand was a completely swoonworthy hero - I adored him and I ultimately adored who Clementine was when she was with him. They were perfect together and my heart wrapped itself around them completely.

There’s a mystery threaded through this love story, and that doesn’t always work for me in romance books. It worked well here though, and I found myself on the edge of my seat, skin pebbled with chills at some points. The ending was perfect, and my heart is so full! It is certain that I’ll be back for more of this sweetness.

Good writing with lackluster sub-plot

I’m glad I took a chance on this one. Lex Martin has a great writing style.

The sub-plot held intriguing build up, but left me feeling disappointed. The conclusion was rushed. All that suspense and build up made me wish for a Big Bang ending. Yeah, that didn’t happen.

The story did a good job of creating a group of characters that I expect to appear in the upcoming books. I’m interested to find out what happens in the next book.

It was okay

The narrator wasn't bad I just think Clementine was kinda annoying. She's too scared to do anything really, but she's strong enough to run at night even when she knows there is a possible killer on the loose. Right! Clementine and Gavin's relationship up until they actually made it official that they were in a relationship was actually pretty good. It soon as they clarify Its official, Clementine basically goes crazy. Judging every man cause of what ex did is cowardly, I think her whole demeanor just rubs me the wrong way.

good story overall

This was a good story and worth a credit. I felt like it had such potential to be a great story, but it never crossed that line. there was a whole story line that was just wrapped up too quickly after being built up. It could have been very suspenseful, but it just barely went there. anyway, it was a good audio story with really good narration.

Buy this book!

This is a nicely written book. Reading the third book in this series. All of the stories tie together without being the exact copy of the first book. Read all of this series and enjoy.
