Publisher's Summary

A retired assassin can't find love, until he meets his match.

Almost dying puts some things in perspective for Reaper. For one, he is getting too old to be dodging bullets. And secondly, who will mourn him when he is gone? Maybe it's time to think about settling down. Problem is, exactly where does a retired assassin meet the right kind of lady?

Charming Reaper Montgomery - the first - turns to a dating service to solve his problem and finds himself intrigued by the owner, especially when his first date with her ends with bullets flying. Between her secret past and his killer resume, they'll make a deadly match.

A stand alone novel with a happily ever after.

Dangerous and sexy

I loved the banter between Reaper and Annie. These are two stong characters, very evenly matched personality-wise.

I liked that the story was action packed so, it was never dull.

Easy listen

This is a fun story about an assassin that is almost retired and basically realizes that he is all alone and goes to a matchmaker for help. All of the dates don’t work but there is instant chemistry with the matchmaker herself. With action and giggles along with some sizzle I’m looking forward to the next installment in this series.

Uniquely Enjoyable

Good Narration! Unique Characters! Surprising Twists! I really enjoyed this book. I keep chuckling over the Hero’s method of counting sheep!

Great story but ok narrator

Story was great. I had a hard time getting into the story. The narrator was monotone. Eve Langlais is great author and I will continue to buy her books in any format.

More reaper please.

This is the 3rd book in the series but can also be a standalone. Charming is dealing with being shot and wanting to settle down. Let’s see what he does next.

Good, but could have been better

Don't get me wrong: I loved the story. I found it engaging and interesting. My biggest complaint was the performance of the voice actor. I've heard him in other titles, so I know he is capable of a well rounded performance, but his skill didn't really shine through in this story. There were quite a few unnecessary pauses in the story and it seemed like he forgot which character he was reading since his voice didn't change from character to character.

Overall, the story was well worth the credit spent and you'll not regret purchasing it.

I love "Annie" and Reaper

Firstly - I love the way Logan McAllister narrates. His voice keeps you locked in and in suspense, when you need it and just at the right tempo. Some might say it is slow, but I love his way.

Reaper is just an alpha male. And almost dying on the job (being an assassin and all) made him realize - he wants someone to come home to. PS - what he was doing at his assignments place had me laughing - but also delayed him. He turns to a dating service and well things just don't work out the way he wants - the ladies just don't suit him.
The Owner takes him into her own hands and does that turn into some interesting events. This man literally does not like the word no. He is all alpha male and once he sees you as his - nothing will stop him from protecting what is his.
Annique is an independent lady. She had me in such stitches. She has a past that seems to haunt her and Reaper wants to help. He doesn't tell her that he is more than a Real Estate agent. She can't tell him why she is hiding.
Then throw in her mystery sister at a ski resort - I think this made my whole week. I was laughing because they are a such stubborn but funny couple.
Love it.

Light but suspenseful, who would've thought

First, let me say that I absolutely loved that the characters were older than your average romance characters. It was a great change of pace reading about characters my own age. That being said, it was a great story. At times it was light and you almost want to chuckle, especially at Reaper's reaction to finally meeting his match. However, Langlais had me on the edge of my seat with all the action and who could possibly be doing it all. I know, a little vague, but I don't want to give away the plot line. Who would have thought you could ave a story that was both light-hearted and suspenseful at the sae time. The narrator did a wonderful job in interpreting the characters. There were a few times though when it came across as a bit forced. Overall, a wonderful story that I am delighted to say I would listen to again.

Great Story!

Deadly Match is the third book in the Bad Boys, Inc. series. Though I haven't yet read or listened to the other books in the series, I didn't feel lost. I was graciously gifted this audible by the author.

CR Montgomery is a semi-retired assassin, thanks to a near-death experience on his last job. He realized that nobody would miss him if he died, so decided he needs a girlfriend. He goes to a matchmaking business to try to make that happen. Annique runs the matchmaking business and thinks she has finally found someone that is not compatible with anyone. She decides to meet with CR Mongomery personally, to figure out why her algorithm isn't working. The story picks up from there.

The story: I really enjoyed the story. Reaper and Annie's personalities worked well together and there was quite a bit of action. Someone was after them, but because they both had secrets in their past, you didn't know until the end what was going on. I do wish that Annie didn't push him away so much, and there was one continuity issue, but other than that, I liked the story.

The audible: The narrator did a pretty good job of having a different tone for the different characters. For such a deep voice, he even did well for the female characters. I do wish he wasn't as stilted as he was, though. Sometimes he drew out words in places that made no sense to me.

Disappointed

I was really looking forward to this book after listening to the first two but I was very disappointed with the storyline.

For me the story didn't get start till around the last seven chapters.

Although this book is set as part of the Bad Boy Inc on Amazon, on audible it's classed as a stands alone book.

Normally I love Eve Langlais books but not this one. Say that I'm really looking or to August when book four the Hitman Wedding cones out.
