Stand alone but should read others first

Most stand alone books in series briefly involve or reference previous characters. This book spends 1/2 time on the old characters and there are a lot of them. I felt it detracted from the story because there were so many players who I didn't know and didn't have investment in. The dialogue was prolonged in this way. Wanted more time with the main characters. Should read the other books first

superb!

Marie & Matt's heartfelt story, the news from the rest of the gang, the slow growth & burn, the permanent smile on my face, the anticipation, the truth, the sweetness, the sexiness, the cleverness of this book, the choice of Joy Nash as a narrator... Thank you, Mrs. Reid <3

My favourite of the series so far!

Dating-ish by Penny Reid (Audiobook)
Narrated by: Joy Nash
Series: Knitting in the City book 6

5 Stars - LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. I loved Matt! He was so nerdy/honest/forthright and it was awesome. Loved the way he talked, the language he used. Marie was an open and honest person and perfect for him. I think he maybe my favourite hero so far in this series.. well until Dan.. I can't wait for his story!!

I think that Joy Nash did a fantastic job narrating this story!

My favourite Knitting in the city book 😍

Penny Reid has a way with words. This book is so much fun. It will make you laugh out loud. It will make you scream in frustration. Matt and Marie's story warms the heart and leaves you smiling from ear to ear. You just have to read this book.

Keeps Getting Better

So it is said that you can read this as a stand alone but do yourself a favor and read the series! I am not sure how the author Penny Reid does it but I swear the series only gets better with each book and that is saying something because I LOVED the first book. After reading 6 books you would think that it gets repetitive but I assure you it does not.

I feel with Marie as though I knew about her from the other stories I didn’t know her. To know her is to love her though as I am sure the rest of her knitting group would tell you. Her view and how she lives her life were refreshing. I really enjoyed how she and all her glory through the series was listed out by Greg, it made it all come full circle.

Matt was a lovely surprise. I was excited when I realize it was that Matt. I wasn’t sure how his child like demeanor was going to... get me to like him but he turned out to be just as hot as the other husbands. Knowing what Marcus told Marie about him was true didn’t hurt either. Haha.

Any who. Loved it. Only criticism is that the narrator annunciated the name Sandra differently than others which isn’t wrong but annoyed me still the same. I like continuity. Again, not wrong so I didn’t even knock a star off but I had to complain about something right?

funny

I've been listening to a lot of Penny Reid's novels recently. from her knitting club line and her Winston men's line and to me this one has by far the funniest scenes. threw this novel I also felt more engaged than her others cheering this Marie on and crying when Marie got hurt. so cheers to Penny Reid and Joy Nash because I'm pretty sure I'll pick up this audio again at some point.

Great buildup

What makes this story special is that it really works on the romance buildup and the anticipation. That was a love story that took a while to develop since they started as really good friends. The narration was very good. It seems like it is the last book in the series though.

Awesome as always!

Penny has always captured that true awkwardness that happens between people when they are trying to come together and fall in love. I love that,

The science behind the perfect match.

I think the Knitting in the City series is perfect for audio. I never struggle to stay focused and I'm captivated from start to finish. Dating-ish was a fascinating study into feelings, emotions and robotics. Can artificial intelligence replace human connection? Are we able to receive the right affection and connection from something that says the right thing every time? Is it a good thing to be satisfied with your wants and desires all the time? You can't help but question what we all accept as the right way? Maybe it is time to find alternative ways to gain satisfaction and connection.

Again, I was overwhelmed with emotions while listening to Dating-ish. Penny Reid writes amazing and original characters that you can't help but love.

The narrator does a fantastic job, but I admit that some of the accents were a bit annoying.

I love Penny Reid's love stories. While the characters are original, quirky and different they're also relatable. I like them and enjoy reading about their love and adventures.

This was definitely a slow burn romance but when we got to the juicy parts they were HOT!!

Loved Dating-ish so much that I'm going back to the beginning and trying out the narrated version for the previous ones I have read.

Perfect addition that's beautifully read

So I read this first in tree-book, then e-book and now on audio. On each reading I found different things I'd missed previously

If you've not read this quirky, funny, intelligent book give yourself a shake, go read it now. Though if you've not read the series I can recommend reading in order as each book, despite being a standalone story, has spoilers for the earlier ones.

Go on... go read...now!
