The Winston Brothers box set contains Beauty and the Mustache and Truth or Beard by New York Times Bestselling Author Penny Reid.

Beauty and the Mustache, Book #1 in the Winston Brothers Series

There are three things you need to know about Ashley Winston: 1) She has six brothers and they all have beards, 2) She is a reader, and 3) She knows how to knit.

Former beauty queen Ashley Winston’s preferred coping strategy is escapism. She escaped her Tennessee small town, loathsome father, and six brothers eight years ago. Now she escapes life daily via her one-click addiction. However, when a family tragedy forces her to return home, Ashley can’t escape the notice of Drew Runous—local Game Warden, bear wrestler, philosopher, and everyone’s favorite guy. Drew’s irksome philosophizing in particular makes Ashley want to run for the skyscrapers, especially since he can’t seem to keep his exasperating opinions—or his soulful poetry, steadfast support, and delightful hands—to himself.

Pretty soon the girl who wanted nothing more than the escape of the big city finds she’s lost her heart in small town Tennessee.

Beauty and the Mustache is book #4 in the Knitting in the City series, and book #1 in the Winston Brothers series. Each book is a standalone, full length (110k words), contemporary romantic comedy novel, and follows the misadventures and exploits of seven friends in Chicago, all members of the same knitting group.

Truth or Beard, Book #2 in the Winston Brothers Series

Beards, brothers, and bikers! Oh my!

Identical twins Beau and Duane Winston might share the same devastatingly handsome face, but where Beau is outgoing and sociable, Duane is broody and reserved. This is why perpetually level-headed Jessica James has been in naïve and unhealthy infatuation with Beau Winston for most of her life. Whereas Duane and Jessica have always been adversaries. She can’t stand him, and she’s pretty sure he can’t stand the sight of her…

But after a case of mistaken identity, Jessica finds herself in a massive confusion kerfuffle. Jessica James has spent her whole life paralyzed by the fantasy of Beau and her assumptions of Duane’s disdain; therefore she’s unprepared for the reality that is Duane’s insatiable interest, as well as his hot hands and hot mouth and hotter looks.

When Jessica finds herself drawn to the man who was always her adversary, how much of her level-headed heart is she willing to risk?

Truth or Beard is book #2 in the Winston Brothers series. Each book is a standalone, full-length, contemporary romantic comedy novel, and follows the romantic exploits and adventures of one of the six Winston Brothers.

I've read 3 books from this series so far. All of them have been entertaining & quite humorous. The author is talented for sure!

I really enjoyed the knitting series. I was a little sad that I discovered that there was a box set of all of them after I had purchased each one individually, but I figured the author, and the performers deserved the money. I enjoyed the knitting book where ashley goes to Tennessee, Tennessee and her brothers are introduced, but I wasn’t super excited to get to know each of them. When I saw that there was a box set, I decided it would be a good easy listen. The bummer is that this “box set“ is actually a book I already purchased plus one book in the next part of the series. In other words, it’s really one book. When you finish, if you want to know what happens next, you have to buy the rest of the books individually.

The story itself is fine, the Winston brothers are funny, and each has their own very distinct character. They are delightfully human, and Jessica is just fine as the protagonist. In other words, it was on okay, not super exciting read.

I may come back to this series later, but for now, I am going to take my listening attention elsewhere.

Bait and switch’s !

I liked how each individual story evolved and how the narrators brought the characters to life by infusing emotions into the books in this collection!

Love this box set and narrators!

I have read the series and the knitting in the city series multiple times, and I love them every time. Enough to where I’ve even used multiple credits on Audible to be able to hear again. My favorites

The characters are so real, I feel I know each of them
