Publisher's summary

Shannon Bodine is a talented graphic artist whose life revolves around her job at a prestigious New York advertising agency. Her world is turned upside down when she learns the identity of her real father: Thomas Concannon.

Respecting her late mother's wish, Shannon travels, however reluctantly, to County Clare. There, her loneliness and shame melt away in the embrace of the family she never knew existed. And amid the lush Irish landscape, steeped in mysticism and legend, she discovers the possibility of a love that is meant to be.

Bad narrator

Great trilogy by one of my favorite authors - the narrator ruined it for me - I'll never listen to another story narrated by him

Was sad when it ended

This trilogy was one of the BEST I have EVER read. I think I feel in love with Murphy too :-)

Great story

The reader did better with the American accents. It was sometimes hard to distinguish one Irish character from another.

I enjoyed the story. Well written and added a nice finish to the trilogy.

Excellent trilogy!!!

I am fast becoming a Nora Roberts fan! I've known for some time that she is a wonderful writter, but since I started with her more recent books, I am now visiting her older books. I've enjoyed this trilogy inmensely! You fall in love with all the characters and you absorb her love of Ireland. The three books are wonderful stories about characters you can relate to, in situations you can relate to. My favorite is Born in Ice, but I just LOVED Murphy in all three of the books, so it was wonderful to finally read his story, and to revisit with old characters in the process!!!

Great Story, Questionable Narrator

What did you love best about Born in Shame?

I love almost all of Nora Roberts' books. I own most of them in print, and I have been buying my favorites on Audible. I like the end of this trilogy a great deal.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the conflict of a modern American woman finding out that what she had believed to be true her entire life isn't actually true. I also like the relationship between Shannon and her "sisters."

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

I did't really like the narrator. This entire series is a story of three women...their dreams, their sorrows, their loves. I didn't like that the narrator was a man. I like his voice, and I think I would really like him for another story. I just had a difficult time reconciling the male voice with the female thoughts and feelings. I think that the narrator for the Chesapeake Bay series should be male for the same reason...male thoughts, sorrows, and loves.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

What do you do when everything you believed turns out to be a lie?

Timeless ending for the trilogy

Nora does it, again. She incorporates her love of Ireland and the mystical into a well-written story that rounds out the trilogy with a modern twist. A successful, corporate professional woman falls in love with Ireland and a farmer - that she’s seen in her dreams…

Beautiful and Gripping

This is one of those books that you can not put down. But it broke my heart when it ended.

Good book in a trilogy

This was my least favorite story in the trilogy. Having said that i still really enjoyed the book. You could almost visualize the scenery and feel a part of it. My only disappointment was that there was no twists or areas that left you wondering like in the first two books of the series. Story line was ok, narration was pretty good, the whole series was great. I don't think I would listen to this book as a stand alone book but it was a nice finish to the series
