Publisher's Summary

Sadie Jennings was used to being protected. As the niece of Sean Taggart, and the receptionist at McKay-Taggart Group, she was constantly surrounded by Alpha men more than capable, and willing, to lay down their life for her. But when she visits her friend in San Antonio, and acts on suspicious activity at Milena's workplace, Sadie puts both of them in the crosshairs of a madman. After several harrowing weeks, her friend is now safe, but for Sadie, the repercussions of her rash act linger on.

Chase Jackson, no stranger to dangerous situations as a captain in the US Army, has volunteered himself as Sadie's bodyguard. He fell head over heels for the beautiful woman the first time he laid eyes on her. With a Delta Force team at his back, he reassures the Taggarts that Sadie will be safe. But when the situation in San Antonio catches up with her, Chase has to use everything he's learned over his career to keep his promise...and to keep Sadie alive long enough to officially make her his.

What a dranatic listen!!

This novella book is a continuation of Susan Stokers Justice for Milena. That story has 2 parts. That one follwed up by this one.
In this story, we see Sadie and Chase trying to find Jonothan (the baddies son from JFM). HE is still obsessed with Sadie...but why?
How do you stop someone with so much hate and sickness inside? You call in the Delta Force team and the Taggerts (who just happen to be, i found out, top of the line assassins). So...with this much fire power behind her, why would Jonothan be so obsessed with her? The reason is GREAT!!!
There is even a moment when Chase and Dane "Fish" Monroe know each other. They are both shocked to find out they Do in fact know each other! That is a GREAT part too.
The ending is..just WOW!! that's all I can say...W O W ! ! ! ! ! You do NOT see it coming, and how SUsan Stoker writes it will just blow you away!!

Excellent romantic mystery

My first book by Ms Stoker but not my last. I listened to this as part of the Crossover from Masters & Mercenaries, it was the best of the Crossover books in my opinion. Full of excitement, great characters, I want to hear about more from the Delta Force Team. Very hot sex scenes, really good narration by Ms Bloom. Don’t miss this one.

A Cute Novella by Susan Stoker

"Rescuing Sadie" is a cute novella by Susan Stoker that I believe many of her followers will enjoy as I did.
I especially loved the heroine in is storyline. although the bad guy terrified her down to her bones, she stood strong when she needed to be.
Most of Ms Stoker's books can be "standalones" but this particular one I felt may of needed a ride along, just to answer some of the questions the readers may have. Other than that, I truly enjoyed it and Stella Bloom; the narrator, did an AWESOME job!

Love this author!

Sadie and Chase are a fun, sexy, action filled good time. Stoker always writes strong women and wonderful alpha men. I have listened to every one of her novels available and they never, ever disappoint.
Narration is wonderful. It closes a loop in the story that you’re left wondering about, so it works well with the story arc and the character.

Novella that still packs a punch

I have been slowing going through books by Susan Stoker and I have not read a bad one yet! After reading Justice for Milena I knew I needed to know what happened to Sadie, so I was really excited when I saw this book was available in the Audible Romance package. Once I started this audio, I could not stop! The narrator, Stella Bloom, was very good. I learned that she also narrated KA’s Rock Chicks so that made it really fun.

Rescuing Sadie is a novella but it still packed a punch. This story pretty much starts right after Justice for Milena. Jonathan, one of the sadistic pedophiles gets away after Milena and Sadie are rescued and he is not done with Sadie. Chase knew from the first moment that Sadie was the one for him so he took it upon himself to protect her. He was going to do whatever he had to to keep her safe. Unfortunately, Sadie, misunderstanding his concern for her, initially thought he didn’t want anything to do with her and she is keeping something from Chase so she tried to keep him at arm’s length. My heart hurt for Sadie and her reason for not wanting to tell Chase what really happened while she was held captive by Jonathon. But thank goodness for Chase’s resolve to have Sadie as his own.

I also really loved all the secondary characters, I have not had a chance to read Rescuing Rayne (its on my TBR pile), which is Chase’s sister’s story and I am really interested in Fish’s story too in Rescuing Bryn. I loved how so many series’ intersect!

All in all a great book and looking forward to continuing on with this series and all the many other ones.

good story line

This was different from the other Delta Force books with the other story line coming into play. But still easy to read. I felt like the last few chapters were way too rushed and bits and pieces of the story were missing. Like where were all the other guys? It just says they were gone. Nothing more. Sort of felt like it was just being rushed to end. Otherwise I liked it a lot. I liked both characters and their story. I just feel like it could have had a lot more to it. Maybe more with Fish and Chase at the end or something else.

Pretty good, just way too short!

I have loved the Masters and Mercenaries series, for the very beginning. I have also been stoked that so many of the books and novellas have been offered through the Romance package; especially the novellas. I have been just skipping them because there is no way I would spend a credit on something so short and they are too expensive for me to purchase them, for the same reason.

I was a bit disappointed that there was not an introduction by Lexi Blake, as the cover stated. Therefore, I have no idea why LB started having other authors write books for her series; and I’m really curious.

The narration was pretty good. My only issue is that Ms. Bloom narrated The Rock Chicks series and I am so accustomed to her voice in that series, it felt wrong with this book.

The basic storyline was pretty much the standard M & M plot. The Hero is protecting the Heroine from the Bad guy and during explosions and gunfire, the Bad guy is no more and the H/h, who have fallen in love during this operation, live HEA. The trouble is that, since the story is so short, there is serious insta-love. There also isn’t an ongoing investigation to find the bad guy, either. You also don’t get to know much about the secondary characters, unless you also have read Susan Stoker’s Delta force series, which is the origin of these characters. Also, this spin-off novella is not set in the BDSM world, so this is not a D/s relationship like in the original series. Therefore, this novella is not erotica, like Lexi Blake’s M & M series.

All in all, this guest author, idea is kinda cool but, had this not been included in the Romance package, I would not have ever listened to it but, since it is, it was kinda entertaining.

Very good narration and story

This is a very good book. I love the characters, the suspense, and the romance. I hate the graphic sex. The narration is very enjoyable.
