Publisher's summary

Things I never planned on happening in my life: getting married, being a mother to a house full of kids, and returning to my small hometown in Texas.

I especially never planned on seeing Tucker Monroe again. Sexy smile. Country charm. A man and a life I left behind for a reason.

The only plan I had for myself was my career. My career as a buyer for one of the largest high-end department stores was the only commitment for which I had time. The only one I was willing to make.

Now, being left with no choice but to return to my hometown, I'm finding it hard to remember why I left in the first place. Because all that's on my mind is Tucker. He is just as sexy. Just as charming. Just as dangerous as he used to be....

Good overall story

The male character reading sounded more like reading instead of really getting into it. With a little practice he’s got a nice voice. But overall the story was really good

Oh that h!

This started off as a 3.5 Star, then dropped to a 2-Star,then wound its way back up to a 4 Star review.

The beginning is a bit humorous with the h getting ready to dump her current Beau, then the h showed her character once she found out that her mother died.

The first half of the book follows a very self-absorbed h with a confused and somewhat angry H. The H refuses to talk or listen and would rather leave things unsaid or run.

The H does some stupid things as well but the h just cannot seem to get her act together but eventually wakes up. I will definitely read the next book in the series and hopefully the h starts to stand up for herself against her tormentors.

Enjoyable

Recently I have found myself gravitating to small town romances, add in that this is a second chance at love story and it was a win/win for me. Melissa Ellen is a relatively new author to me and I found this story to be as entertaining. Narrated by Erin Coker and Ski, both did an admirable job bringing Lottie and Tucker’s story to life.

Having left behind Tucker and her small town 12 year ago, Lottie finds herself back home again, but hopefully not for long. It is obvious that they have unresolved feelings, the question is should they explore what sizzles between them and take a chance or ignore the attraction?
This was a sweet, at times frustrating story, and there were times when my heart broke for the characters but I was left with a smile on my face.

Sweet home alabama??

Did anyone else think this was a spin-off of the movie Sweet Home Alabama? Regardless, it was enjoyable.

Overall enjoyed the story

Didn't care for the male performers female voices! Could have eliminated some of the "f" bombs!! They don't add anything to the story and just feel out of place.

Small town second chance

This is an ARC review. All opinions are solely my own.

Redeeming Lottie by Melissa Ellen is the first book of the Billingsley series. I had never read this author but there is nothing I love more than a series that follows friends and family. I can't wait to read or listen to the rest of this series.

This audiobook is narrated by Erin Coker and Ski. Their voices are adaptable and allowed them to animate different characters and accents. Overall, I enjoyed their performances.

Lottie has left small town living to follow her dream of fashion. She has to return home and thinks it will be a quick trip and she'll be able to get back to her life in the city. Of course this gives her a chance to run into her first love. Sparks fly. Miscommunications happen. People interfere.

This book was sweet and heartbreaking, infuriating and endearing. Excuse me while I go read the rest of this series.

Such a wonderful listen

What a wonderful listen this was. This was a short one for me however I did not feel as if I was missing out on any of the story line. I loved that this was a mature listen with developed mature characters. There is a small amount of drama but it was writen in such a relateable way it didn't annoy me. I really enjoyed the emotion of this book, how real it was portrayed and how honest it was.
Both narrators were new to me but they did an awesome job!

Lottie & Tucker we’re pulling at my heartstrings by the end of the 1st chapter! A book with a small town, second chance at love feel and throw in a heartbreaking secret…I’m hooked! Great writing & awesome, believable narration!
