A suspenseful mafia romance!

Honor by Melissa Ellen is book one in her Made series. I devoured this story and Connor Crais and Allyson Voller were fantastic in their performances bringing these characters to life. Connor's gritt and emotion was incredible and Allyson's voice carried her character's fierce, passionate personality perfectly.

There is so much to love about this story. Mafia, romance and tons of suspense and action to keep me guessing as I listened. Lena and Mario are destined to be together.Their love story began when they were children and their connection deepened with time. For Mario growing up in the Leoni family he knew one thing. He did not want anything to do with the mafia business, or following in his fathers footsteps. Lena Moretti is the daughter of a mob boss and although she and Mario fell in love early in their life they were forced apart due to an arranged marriage that she couldn't get out of. Despite this obstacle circumstances bring them back together and Mario will do anything to protect Lena and get her away from a life of misery. The moment Lena and Mario re-enter each others life, the heat, passion and chemistry between them is scorching and undeniable. Like no time has passed.

Melissa Ellen's take on mafia romance was lighter and sweeter side than I am used to but refreshing and no less heart pounding or suspenseful than some of the darker mafia books I have read or listened to. The story is full of action, drama and suspense but is also heartfelt and emotional and Ellen captured all the things I love about her writing. I am looking forward to more to come in this series.

Great Mafia Story!

Mario and Lena's story was action packed! This is a story set in the mafia world so there are people who are no longer there at the end of the story.

Melissa Ellen brings us right into Mario's life and his quest to return to his old life and reclaim the love of his life, Lena. Nothing is as easy and it seems and his return is full of deception as he joins the ranks of a world he fought so hard to get out of.

This story had action and love and a deep family connection. It was a great read.

Swoon-Worthy Second Chance Romance

Honor by Melissa Ellen is a standalone second chance mafia romance in the Made series.

Mario and Lena's story is a suspenseful love story with a lot of twists. There was plenty of angst and drama but also some sweet and tender moments. I loved the ending of Honor it was unexpected and perfect.

Connor Crais has the perfect voice for performing a role as a made man and Allyson Voller was fabulous as Lena, I would definitely recommend listening to the audiobook of Honor.

Amazing!

Mario and Lena are scorching in this story. It's suspenseful and exciting and sexy and passionate. Listening to the audio made the story so much better. The narrators really were the characters and brought the story to life. I couldn't stop listening as I was taken in by their voices and the way they took on the characters and transported me into the story.

Great suspense, good guys bad guys, betrayal, hot alphas, murder, love, hot sex , great interesting characters……. Well done!

A solid second chance romance!

This was my first time reading Melissa Ellen and I was NOT disappointed! This author writes multiple genres and my inner dark romance reader selected the Made series for the mafia romance trope.

With that being said, here is what I loved!
1. The second chance romance! These two are a forbidden love—mafia princess and an ex-military security personnel. They fell in love as teens, but life got in the way.
2. Mario’s close-knit family and his overprotective momma!
3. The dual POV. I listened to the audiobook for this and both narrators were superb!
4. The way Mario and Lena had to sneak around, it definitely upped the forbidden romance angst!

If you’re looking for a lowkey mafia romance that errs more on the side of gritty as opposed to dark, then this is a great option! The romance feels nostalgic and the steamy scenes have a nice lil’ kick of spice.

And if you like audiobooks, this one delivers a solid performance from both narrators—I listened at 1.7x and the story seemed to fly by!

Enjoyable

This is my first Melissa Ellen book. This audiobook was a fast-paced enjoyable read. It wasn’t angsty for a mafia read but the romance between Lena and Mario was sweet. Connor Crais and Allyson Voller did a good job. I look forward to more by this author.

What an amazing story

I just couldn't stop listening to... The story kept me captivating from start to end. And of course the narrators did an amazing job I liked that we got to hear not just the main characters' POV. A series I def. wanna go on listening to/reading.

I’m a new Melissa Ellen fan!

Wow! What a great listen! I’m fairly new to audiobooks and I love finding ones that have the perfect narrating duo. This is one such listen; and I can’t wait to get more from this fantastic author!

Lena and Mario’s mafia romance story is a sizzling one! They a fireworks connection between them. Their story had the perfect amount of suspense to keep me listening. I loved the pace of the story, and Connor and Allyson did a magnificent job of bringing Lena and Mario to life!

If you are looking for an audiobook that will instantly grab you, take you on a whirlwind ride of suspense and passion, then look no further! Melissa Ellen has an amazing talent and I am glad to now be a fan! Can’t wait for another Made novel!

Different side of the Mafia coin

I enjoyed the chemistry between Mario and Lena; it was believable. I also loved Mario's loyalty to the women in his life- his mother and sister. He was a protector. I also really enjoyed the twist right at the end; it was a delightful surprise. However, I struggled because the story was missing the edge and darkness commonly found in Mafia stories. Some parts felt rushed that had more time been spent on them, it would have lent more to the story. Connor did a good job. However, his female voice still needs some work. This story was my first time listening to Allyson, and she has a great voice for narration, but there were some areas where she fell a little flat.
