Publisher's Summary

A prominent figure amongst New York City's fashion elite, Elena Vega is a successful businesswoman and single mother to an adorable three-year-old son, Lucas. Her love life, however, is lacking, as those closest to her keep pointing out.

At the persistent urging of her closest friend, Elena reluctantly agrees to a string of blind dates if she can find a suitable babysitter for Lucas.

Enter Allison Sawyer, a free-spirited senior at New York University.

Elena is intrigued by Allison's ability to push her out of her element, and the young woman's instant and easy connection with a normally shy Lucas quickly earns Allison the job.

After each blind date, Elena returns home to complain to Allison about her lacking suitors. As they bond, Elena begins to realize that the person possessing all the qualities she most desires might just be the woman who has been in front of her the entire time.

The vast difference between the two women's social statuses, however, may be an obstacle not easily overcome.

Loved the Book and the Audio Made it Better

I loved this book with its quirks on dialogue and everything so when I saw the audiobook was made I had to get it. To me it made the book all the better. Kira Riley does a great job with voices (subtle differences in the characters voices). If you loved or even just liked the book, you will enjoy this narration of it!

Hot! Hot!! Hot!!!

It is a sweet sensual love story, with hot sexiness mixed in to make for one amazingly great book! That would make for an awesome movie! The whole book I couldn't help but picture Anna Kendrick as Allison.

okay

Narrator is super fast and the story wraps up kind of fast. Like the author just wanted to be done with the story.

Feel good read!

I love this book. It’s now at the top of my list of lesbian romance novels. The characters are witty and real and I found myself laughing constantly at the dialogue. I was expecting more of a climax toward the end but I feel that the progression was much more realistic than most other romance books. Don’t pass on this one!

Cute but not really for me

I really wanted to love this book bc the connection between the MC’s was sweet & cute & I was rooting for them. It started off pretty strong. BUT...man it just seemed to draaaagggg on. About halfway through I kept checking the book’s remaining time every other chapter bc I got repeatedly bored tbh. Melissa as a narrator is hit or miss for me. Perhaps she played a part in why it felt soooo slow. She fell completely flat on this one for me. There just seemed to be a lot of unnecessary filler dialogue that was moved far too slowly by monotone or hushed narration. I found myself skipping forward quite a few times just to get to the interesting or meaningful portions of each chapter. Maybe I would’ve loved the cutesy sweetness of it all had it been condensed into 6-8 hrs. Or maybe a more animated narrator would’ve kept my attention better for 11+ hrs. idk. Just not the book for me, sorry :(

Just...

...what to say. I laughed. I cried. I cheered. (Low angst, YAY) I couldn’t stop listening - went right through it. Unfamiliar narrator that quickly grew on me and delivered quite delightfully. Will listen over and over again.

I love this book

It’s so sweet and wholesome. 3 year old Lucas steals the show in many occasions and the Nora inquisition is hilarious.

Worth a try but not amazing

Storyline predictable and mostly believable but still nice to listen to this story. Worth trying. Narration would be better if the main character supposedly in her late 20’s didn’t sound like an elderly woman. But if you can accept that it’s not too bad.
