Publisher's Summary

Ambitious Daily Sentinel journalist Lauren King is chaffing on LA’s vapid social circuit, reporting on glamorous A-list parties while sparring with her rival - the formidable, icy Catherine Ayers. Ayers is an ex-Washington political correspondent who suffered a humiliating fall from grace, and her acerbic, vicious tongue keeps everyone at bay. Everyone, that is, except knockabout Iowa girl King, who is undaunted and unimpressed and gives as good as she gets.

One night a curious story unfolds before their eyes: one political launch, 34 prostitutes and a palette of missing pink champagne. Can the warring pair work together to unravel an incredible story?

This is a lesbian fiction with more than a few mysterious twists.

Another good one

I just finished listening to this one, the choice of Victoria Mei as narrator was brilliant. Her ice queen Catherine Ayers felt impossible to melt, and her Lauren King was spot on. I totally dig this book and can't wait to here the sequel. If at all possible I say have Victoria Mei narrate the sequel as well. She brings those charters to life and gives them full bodies and feelings.

Loved it!!!!

This was really well written and such a delight to read. I was so intrigued with the scandal that I forgot this was also a love story. Both of the main characters were great although I would love to have a prequel of Catherine’s story. This was my first book by Lee Winter and I will definitely be reading more. And as for Victoria Mei, her narration was wonderful! #lovedit #journalism #lgbtqa+ #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

Very enjoyable <br />

This is a very good story...a little drama a little romance and the absolute best Narrator I have listened to. I will definitely read more by this Author...and the Narrator could read anything and make it sound sexy!

not as good as "the Brutal Truth"

I recently read "the brutal truth" by Lee Winter. I really enjoyed that book. The characters were very likable and the narration was excellent. This book. " the Red Files" just wasn't as good. The characters in this book didn't impress me.Catherine was hard to like, in fact. So, if you are reading this review and haven't yet decided on which Lee Winter book to get, please, do yourself a favor and get "the Brutal Truth."

I like the story but not a fan of the narrator

It took me over two weeks to finish the audiobook. The narrator’s voices do not fit the characters well. This is a huge let down.

Lee winter has not failed yet!

Another great book by Lee Winter. Couldn't stop listening.
Great characters once again. The performer brought both personalities to life and made you want to root for them..even the caustic queen.
