Publisher's Summary

Eighteen-year-old Charlee Parker met the love of her life in a parking lot-a leggy brunette with a valedictorian medal hanging from her rear-view mirror and an attitude as biting as a Boston winter. Alexandra Woodson was guarded, a 19-year-old orphan set on a bright future in hospitality administration. She never imagined an art student with a penchant for cheesy pick-up lines and stealing parking spaces would crack her rigid exterior and claim her heart.

For four years, theirs was an enviable love - evergreen and growing. Unbreakable... until it broke.

Alex's job now brings her back to Boston, after five years working on the opposite side of the country. When, by chance, they meet again, Charlee and Alex are swept up in a whirlwind of heart-rending history, tossed between past and present, and lovers old and new. Will their lingering connection be enough to convince them that some loves are meant to last? Or should the past remain in the past?

Contains mature themes.

Now That's a Love Story!!!!

this book was so powerful I'm not sure how to start any sort of review. I'm not sure which was better... the amazing storyline or Abby craden narrating. loved both!!! the whole story played out perfectly. this audiobook is so filled with emotion it's really hard to pinpoint the right words to use here. I loved the characters (especially Charlie) and the whole thing definitely gave me the feels. I'm sure it will be a long time before I find another love story so perfect. sorry this review is all over the place. Ha. the book was so good I honestly feel like I should contact the author and tell her how much I appreciated it. anyway, if you are reading this and considering getting this book, please do.

Expected Better

After reading many of the reviews, I was really expecting something with more "wow". Unfortunately, there was just sad, slow motion whining and pining. I kept waiting for it to get better, but it never really did.

SO good, seriously.

I have listened to many many romances, and I have to say this is one of the best I’ve listened to. It’s sweet and sad and steamy and beautiful.

good yet confusing<br />

constant jumping in time with no indication or transition almost made me give up on a good book with an excellent performance by Abby Crayden.
Add in some dates or even just years to keep the confusion down.
Worth reading.

This was a really good book.

This is one of my favorite audiobooks. I’ve listened to a lot recently and this is in the top 5. I appreciated Charlie’s character best. I occasionally wanted to poke Alex in the eye - lol - but I understand where she’s emotionally coming from. Some people struggle doing what’s best for themselves if it involves hurting someone else. This was an emotional ride. But a good one.

Predictable

I liked the story line but it was predictable and very straight forward (pun intended). I loved Charlie, Alex annoyed me, but the characters did compliment each other.

Oh My Heart!

This such a heartwarming love story. Such amazing work by KL Hughes. It had me looking forward to when I could listen again. Abby Craden did an amazing job as narrator (as she usually does)

avoid, run away, poke forks through your eyes

and shove sticks through your ears. anything to keep yourself from reading or listening to this story. and i still have 2 hours to completion. this book is quite possibly one of the greatest love stories ever written. it is also one of the most moving, emotional, heart wrenching stories i have ever read. the reviews here are spot on, but if you dont want to experience hurt and sadness and pain, you may want to reconsider before reading (listening) to the first 5 minutes into the story...
ok, enough of this but very true as are the other reviews. I dont write reviews often and yet here I am and I havent even finished the book. Speaking of which, my norm is to drag an audio on for 2 to 3 weeks and enjoy it without rush. I have listened to this book now or 7 hours non stop and decided to take a break and write this. Are you getting the picture yet. Since I am on a break, I should probably look for another box of tissues.
These reviews have left out a critical part of this audio that must be mentioned. The author is fanntastic and gifted, but what truly made this so vivid, real, and powerful was the spectacular narriation from abbey. Her antastic use of voice character and the emotion she put into the read was ......... ok I have no words to describe how powerful this matchup between author and narriator is. The perfect combination to a perfect story.

Not the usual formulae

Very enjoyable listen, excellent narration as always from Abby Craden.
Most of the writing was tight and some really interesting descriptions of emotional and physical intimacy and the lack of it.
Could possibly have done with a shorter tease towards the end but can't fault it for value at 9 hours of story.
The flashbacks were done well although as I wasn't reading it made me work a little to place where we were, but I didn't have to work that hard.
Solid read and something a little different... hey its a romance you know where you're going to end up, its the journey that matters.

Mixed bag

A great job in narration but the story jumps forward and back too much but Lord help us it is very frustrating - the angst is completely overdone
