Publisher's summary

In Operation Happiness, happiness strategist and life coach Kristi Ling teaches you how to create immediate, positive shifts in your life by proving that happiness is a skill that can be cultivated, learned, and mastered - much like playing an instrument.

After experiencing a long-term illness, a divorce, and the sudden deaths of loved ones, Ling spent years studying the science of happiness. She focused on identifying and testing specific emotional support tools. During this process, she discovered something that goes against everything we've been lead to believe about happiness: it isn't just something you feel, it's something you do. Based on this discovery, Ling outlines the three foundational principles that lead to a life of joy: change your view, make over your mornings, and create new habits.

Really enjoyed the narration

I listen to tons of audio books. The narration is the key for me. This book was very enjoyable to listen to. Nothing was too deep but plenty of chapters were worth reviewing in my head and great reminders. I could point out many chapters I really enjoyed, 24 and 25 and most actually. Surrounding yourself with friends that are uplifting and happy becomes a mutual respect of growth for all. I believe each morning is a fresh new start and anything is possible no matter what yesterday was like. I like the podcast she authors and narrates also.

Enjoyed every minute!

While I do already practice many of the happiness tips Kristi suggest in her book, I found her story a joy to listen to and very reaffirming. Kristi’s tips are simple and easy to follow and told in such a way that you will want to start or add a few immediately. Thank you Kristi!

This Book Speaks to My Soul!

Not like a “New Revelation “ kinda of moment, but a moment to rely reflect on ones personal quest for happiness. I have a spiritual foundation and have faith in the way I was moving to achieve my happiness goals. Yet Kristi’s personal experiences made me feel okay to be my authentic self! I had some doubts about how the world views happiness, and defining it in material possessions, but book made me look into myself and check off “OK” you got this. Kristi did a lot of research and coupled with her candid real life experiences made it an easy read, that I keep coming back to. It’s one I could share with any person young or mature and from most cultures. It didn’t make me feel like I’ve been thinking about happiness wrong but it shifted a feeling into an active skill set, that needs tuning regularly. I’m in love with her “perspectives” and “perception” in the way way to use our personal qualities we’ve liked about ourselves, but we’ve change or conformed into what someone or something say “happiness” should be for us. I’ve always love the little girl I was, and I love the way I interacted with all people, it was the beauty I enjoyed about my personality, and over time I shifted into some thing I didn’t like and have been working hard to feel that way as an adult, wife and mother. I believe am confident in my skills of defining happiness and with this books tool and my spiritual tools I can continue in my journey, enduring with true happiness.
