Publisher's Summary

Lori Harder is a self-love expert with over one million listeners on her Earn Your Happy podcast. In A Tribe Called Bliss, she shares the exact structure she used to build her own tribe and grow from the anxiety-ridden, unhealthy, introverted underachiever she was to the confident woman who takes risks and leaps out of her comfort zone, with a foreword from number one New York Times best-selling author Gabrielle Bernstein.

The benefits of a having a tribe are undeniable. Women who have strong social circles are living longer, happier, healthier lives in comparison to those who lack connections and are mentally and physically exhausting themselves trying to quench external desires in isolation.

Today, we live in an uber-connected era, where anyone is able to make thousands of friends and participate in their lives with the swipe of a finger. Why, then, in such a connected time in history, do so many women feel disconnected, confined, misunderstood, and defeated or think that success is a solo project?

In A Tribe Called Bliss, Lori Harder bridges the gap between inspiration and action, providing a lasting resource for positive change and a guidebook for establishing a support tribe. This practical book is for the growing audience of women seeking the sisterhood and connection they crave so much. It encourages readers to examine life on a micro level, and Lori provides lessons and contextual self-work exercises on how to develop the kind of awareness of the present moment that is the key to a lifetime of blissful happiness.

Not a great choice for Audio and best for groups

I think she has great concepts, and her stories and ideas are inspirational. It was not really what I was expecting. It is designed more for an established group of women that want to develop their friendships, not someone looking for a way to begin new friendships. The activities at the end of each chapter are honestly quite annoying in an audio book without an accompanying pdf, and again geared toward use in the group setting.

Some nuggets of wisdom

I liked most of the content of this book and it put a fresh spin on some time honored self-empowerment themes but I was disappointed that there wasn’t a PDF companion for the audio book. It made it hard to follow and difficult to participate as the book requires.

BeYOUtiful Journey And Masterpiece!

So I want to start off by saying that I am not a person who writes too many reviews! Something has to really move me and speak to me in order for me to say “hey I have to share this with the world and shoutout my gratitude !” And Lori Harder’s AMAZING book is definitely worth the shoutout to the UNIVERSE! I usually purchase physical books and let me add that I will absolutely purchase a few physical copies to share with my sisters! I listen to Lori’s podcast “Earn Your Happy” on ITunes and let me tell you, if you haven’t listened to it, now is the time. Whether you’re a guy or girl, Lori has the beautiful ability to speak to everyone and she is very relatable! I never would’ve thought that she’s been through all the things she goes over in this book, but she is a warrior and I’m glad she’s sharing this with everyone! I don’t want to give away too many details because I really do encourage everyone to purchase the audible version! You can listen to it while you’re at home or on a walk, you feel like she’s speaking directly to you! I’m touched by her amazing contribution to men and women everywhere through this book! Find your tribe, love them hard! Thank you Lori! I can’t wait to embark on this journey with my tribe!

Disappointed that there is no accompanying pdf

Lori does an great job narrating - she really brings the material to life. Loved the content of this book. Loved the message! Disappointed that there is no accompanying pdf for the guiding questions at the end of the chapters. Most books like this include a pdf.

Too much justification & explaining

I am only 30 minutes into the book and I cringe at the thought of continuing. The first part was like a sales job to why we should be reading the book. Since I was really excited to read the book in the first place, the over sell killed the momentum and it felt like the author was begging for my attention instead of giving me value.

Then it’s a whole thing about her story which felt even more sales-y and just gave me bad vibes. I really like Gabrielle Brinstien (who did the preface) because her books have helped me a lot so her endorsement excited me.
However, the book seem way out of line with a confident and balanced person.

I don’t want to miss out on what value may be under the justification fluff so I’ll try to find a main points summary and return the audiobook.

In an effort to view this piece of work from love, I will say that the idea is solid and something that I would love to embrace. If she has cracked the tribe code then I want to know. I just cannot go on a depressing ride of memory lane with her to justify why she has been blessed enough to crack the code.

I hope that others have a better experience than me with this audiobook. Maybe this author needs to visit Abraham Hicks before writing another book.

It Just didn't resonate with me

In all fairness, it may have been the timing as I was listening to it on a long drive to a sales meeting. It's started out great, but I didn't feel that the complete, graphic details of her kidnapping and rape were necessary to get her point across. Maybe she got relief from finally sharing - and maybe she is totally trying to focus on attracting a tribe which I am not a part of. Needless to say - I will never finish the book.

Not worth it

This book has too much "here is what your tribe should discuss" and if you dont have people to meet up with to discuss the book it's a bit pointless. Not a book to just listen to in the car.
