Publisher's summary

All Empires Collapse Eventually and America is No Exception. From best selling author Bobby Akart, The Loyal Nine is a gripping novel of an America teetering on the edge of economic and societal collapse. Political suspense collides with post-apocalyptic thriller fiction in the bestselling series - The Boston Brahmin. "A terrifyingly realistic, prescient new series ... which can only be described as prophetic." - G. Michael Hopf, best selling author of The New World Series

With social unrest sweeping the country, Europe on the brink of war and the U.S. economy under siege by foreign nations, a new threat emerges. The nation is caught in the crosshairs of a power struggle between wealthy oligarchs and the political leaders who claim to have the country's best interests at heart.

As the collapse events escalate, enter The Loyal Nine - direct descendants of the Founding Fathers, a modern day Knights Templar whose mission is to protect America, and the republic, from those who would inflict tyranny upon her.

But will America be destroyed from within? Conditions of war are building and they do not involve bullets and bombs. There is a new battleground - cyberspace. As the country descends into decline economically and socially, will America be caught off guard by a threat never before experienced - a devastating Cyber War?

conflicting plot line doesn't make sense

starts off a bit difficult to follow with many different characters and lines of plot.
then you have 9 people that have ultimate power to mold the shape of our country comma and even select each president. and yet with all this power they select Obama? And Hillary? I call b******* and if you didn't catch that again I call b*******. they then go on to talk about preparedness for collapse of society. a collapse which I would argue that they created, if indeed they had this ultimate power. then with all their wealth that they could throw at the problem of preparedness Kama they choose to live on top of a building in the middle of a city??? Again I call b*******. no proper with reasonable options and A Fistful of money would choose to prep and stay in the middle of a city.

Entire backstory book just to sell next books

This book took a long time building the charaters (maybe too long), with lottle to no action to keep you entertained.
I dislike books interested in selling you a series instead of telling you a story....and this one was obviously set to tell the story in the next book.

This book has never been more relevant than now

America knows that it has many weaknesses. None greater than that from a cyber attack. Fortunately, there are a group of people who can draw their lineage back to the founding fathers that have banded together to help save American from being cut down at the knees. The Loyal Nine is the first book in The Boston Brahmin series and provides a look into the start of a potential collapse and what the loyal nine will do to protect themselves and this great nation.

The narration for The Loyal Nine was done by Joseph Morton who does a fantastic job. He provides the perfect amount of bravado and machismo for the role(s) and makes everything that is going on in the book seem more realistic. You can tell that Morton really got behind the story, it shows in the way that this book is performed.

Akart is a master storyteller. Throughout The Loyal Nine he is really setting the scene for an all-out catastrophe, all while explaining the background and current situation of the Boston Brahmin (aka the Loyal Nine). I felt like I was getting a behind the scenes view of the start of something magical. I don't know if it's the way that Akart writes, or if I was just looking for a story like this. But I was enjoying this from the get-go.

The story itself is insanely relevant to today. I kept thinking, when did he write this? Because the scenes could have been written the night before they felt so real. Most of the story is based on history and current events and Akart does it in such a way that makes it feel like it's playing out for real right in front of you.

The Loyal Nine was definitely an intro book to the rest of the series, and I can promise you one thing. I cannot wait to dive in to see where this goes.

I was provided a free copy of this book by the author.

It is inevitable.

History repeats itself in many ways and in The Loyal Nine the repeat is staged in the here and now. You feel the pain of the country falling apart and it hurts. You feel the struggle of the ones affected by the events that unfold. This is the stage for the next book in the series and a must read.

Waste of time

I found this book boring, the reader flat. Overall just one big conspiracy theory. All in all a waste of time.

Like a Tea Party infomercial, but much worse.

What would have made The Loyal Nine better?

Less all-out self glorifying of the author's views, a LOT less. I've seen more balanced material on Jehovah's Witness propaganda. "...makers(the super rich) vs takers.", really? Also, having another performer instead of Morton, who completely forgets to do any type of voice acting with the characters he seems to deeply dislike. VERY unprofessional of his part. Plus the whole setup is deeply laughable in its nonsense, from safe houses of superwealthy people on 100 Beacon to cheap Union bashing and the shameless constant product placement/self promoting of his other books.I didn't return it only because I feared this book is so soiled that the credit I paid with would've contaminated the rest upon refund, and I'm only barely joking about it.

Would you ever listen to anything by Bobby Akart again?

Long answer? NO

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Joseph Morton?

He's bad here, but nobody could have salvaged this rotten ship.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disgust, worry, and pity in equal parts for such biased views. This is my first and, hopefully, last experience of the kind on Audible.

Any additional comments?

There is no warning on the book bio that this is basically a propaganda manual of deeply disturbing political and racial views, far from a mere piece of fiction. Please fix that.

Very slow and put narration

I put in about 3 hours on this title before finally giving up. It was very tedious and the narrator has an approach that made it even more boring. I know that others loved the book, which is why I gave it 3 hours to capture my interest, but I just couldn't keep going.

Foul language used.

Used the F word 11 times in less than 2 hours. I do not understand why an intelligent writer needs to use this word to make a statement.

Bob @ Platypire Reviews

*I received a copy of this book for an honest review*

The government pulling the strings behind chaos is not something I'm accustomed to reading in fiction, but I have to say that I enjoyed it. I admit that at times I got a bit lost, but it was mostly explained quite well. The story and build up were great, and I'm getting ready to dive into Cyber Attack, the next book in the series. Now, the characters left a bit to be desired, BUT, we're being introduced to several at once, as this is the first in a series, and I still enjoyed them.

I listened to the audible, and the narrator is very clear and concise, with a pleasant voice and good tempo.

Bob says: something like 3.75 stars!

disappointing

I was really disappointed with the fact that almost every other sentence was filled with profanity. Not what I was expecting at all I returned it without reading the first chapter.
