Publisher's Summary

All Empires Collapse Eventually and America is No Exception.
From best selling author Bobby Akart, The Loyal Nine is a gripping novel of an America teetering on the edge of economic and societal collapse. Political suspense collides with post-apocalyptic thriller fiction in the bestselling series - The Boston Brahmin.
"A terrifyingly realistic, prescient new series ... which can only be described as prophetic." - G. Michael Hopf, best selling author of The New World Series

With social unrest sweeping the country, Europe on the brink of war and the U.S. economy under siege by foreign nations, a new threat emerges. The nation is caught in the crosshairs of a power struggle between wealthy oligarchs and the political leaders who claim to have the country's best interests at heart.

As the collapse events escalate, enter The Loyal Nine - direct descendants of the Founding Fathers, a modern day Knights Templar whose mission is to protect America, and the republic, from those who would inflict tyranny upon her.

But will America be destroyed from within? Conditions of war are building and they do not involve bullets and bombs. There is a new battleground - cyberspace. As the country descends into decline economically and socially, will America be caught off guard by a threat never before experienced - a devastating Cyber War?

"conflicting plot line doesn't make sense"

starts off a bit difficult to follow with many different characters and lines of plot.
then you have 9 people that have ultimate power to mold the shape of our country comma and even select each president. and yet with all this power they select Obama? And Hillary? I call b******* and if you didn't catch that again I call b*******. they then go on to talk about preparedness for collapse of society. a collapse which I would argue that they created, if indeed they had this ultimate power. then with all their wealth that they could throw at the problem of preparedness Kama they choose to live on top of a building in the middle of a city??? Again I call b*******. no proper with reasonable options and A Fistful of money would choose to prep and stay in the middle of a city.

What made the experience of listening to The Loyal Nine the most enjoyable?

Preppers in the upper echelons of Boston society? Whodathunkit? Very good storyline with an exceptional narration.
Just purchased #2 Cyberattack...... Hope everything is as good in this episode.

"Entire backstory book just to sell next books"

This book took a long time building the charaters (maybe too long), with lottle to no action to keep you entertained.
I dislike books interested in selling you a series instead of telling you a story....and this one was obviously set to tell the story in the next book.

    "It is inevitable."

History repeats itself in many ways and in The Loyal Nine the repeat is staged in the here and now. You feel the pain of the country falling apart and it hurts. You feel the struggle of the ones affected by the events that unfold. This is the stage for the next book in the series and a must read.

"A great listen and a knowledge dump all on one."

Definitely a great listen. The preparedness aspect of the series doesn't really start to kick in to the end of the book, but instead you get a lesson on geopolitics and cyber terrorism. Even during these lessons, very entertaining!

"This book has never been more relevant than now"

America knows that it has many weaknesses. None greater than that from a cyber attack. Fortunately, there are a group of people who can draw their lineage back to the founding fathers that have banded together to help save American from being cut down at the knees. The Loyal Nine is the first book in The Boston Brahmin series and provides a look into the start of a potential collapse and what the loyal nine will do to protect themselves and this great nation.

The narration for The Loyal Nine was done by Joseph Morton who does a fantastic job. He provides the perfect amount of bravado and machismo for the role(s) and makes everything that is going on in the book seem more realistic. You can tell that Morton really got behind the story, it shows in the way that this book is performed.

Akart is a master storyteller. Throughout The Loyal Nine he is really setting the scene for an all-out catastrophe, all while explaining the background and current situation of the Boston Brahmin (aka the Loyal Nine). I felt like I was getting a behind the scenes view of the start of something magical. I don't know if it's the way that Akart writes, or if I was just looking for a story like this. But I was enjoying this from the get-go.

The story itself is insanely relevant to today. I kept thinking, when did he write this? Because the scenes could have been written the night before they felt so real. Most of the story is based on history and current events and Akart does it in such a way that makes it feel like it's playing out for real right in front of you.

The Loyal Nine was definitely an intro book to the rest of the series, and I can promise you one thing. I cannot wait to dive in to see where this goes.

I was provided a free copy of this book by the author.

    "Exciting and educational."

The incorporation of history and current events into the story makes it much more relatable than other books in this genre. Can't wait for the next book.

    "Good Book"
What did you love best about The Loyal Nine?

The story line and the current event factors brought it into an almost realization of what could happen. The background history was also fascinating.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Loyal Nine?

What, Why and how along with during the taking down of Las Vegas. There should have been more to go along with that part, mere of a story line.

What about Joseph Morton’s performance did you like?

He is a wonderful narrator, his performance is wonderful. I've listened to him in other books. Very good

    Any additional comments?

The beginning of the book was a very slow start and I wanted them to get to the point without all the 2015 background. The middle to end of the book makes me want more.

"Interesting twist on the usual prepper topics."

I would have given this book 5 stars except that the authors fell into the usual trap of believing a story lacks authenticity without lots of obscenities. Poor language choices do not elevate a story. In fact, I prefer noble beliefs be accompanied by noble language.

Getting past the language, the concept behind the book is intriguing. The two sets of main characters are not the usual suspects. The setting, in Boston and D.C., is not the usual placement. It feels like twists are coming that I cannot foresee.

I was also surprised at the fearlessness of the authors as they used the names, policies and events of current high political figures. Can't wait to see how they progress based the actual election results and the changes in policy.
