Publisher's Summary

New York Times bestselling author Joel C. Rosenberg returns with a high-stakes political thriller set in Russia.

Everything he learned to protect the president, he must use to take out theirs.

With an American president distracted by growing tensions in North Korea and Iran, an ominous new threat is emerging in Moscow. A czar is rising in the Kremlin, a Russian president feverishly consolidating power, silencing his opposition, and plotting a brazen and lightning-fast military strike that could rupture the NATO alliance and bring Washington and Moscow to the brink of nuclear war. But in his blind spot is the former U.S. Secret Service agent, Marcus Ryker, trained to protect but ready to kill to save his country.

Outstanding thriller

Once you start this book you can’t put it down! I especially enjoyed the voice of Adam Grupper. He put so much emotion and reality into each and every character. His accents and inflections were spot on! As usual Joel Rosenberg puts today’s headlines into realistic possibilities that make you stop and consider what is really going on in the world . I also appreciate Joel’s intertwining gospel messages . I sampled then purchased this book after hearing Rush Limbaugh’s recommendation. Thank you Mr. Rosenberg for yet another thrill ride!

terrific and realistic

I listen to this on Audible. The narrator is very talented and did a great job with not only the story but all the different character voices as well. As usual, Mr Rosenberg has written a fast paced, entertaining, realistic, and therefore sobering book. Recommended.

Great spellbinding tale

This was a great spellbinding tale. Written to be very contemporary so it seemed 'real'. Especially liked how the author wove faith issues into the story in a very quiet and "non-preach" way, yet made it an important part of the story. Great, tense and exciting story and unlike other novels didn't have or need any gratuitous sex.

Rosenberg at his finest!

I've read most of Rosenberg's novels, but believe this to be his best. My husband and I listened to it together and couldn't wait until we both had time for the next chapters. The narrator is excellent at portraying various roles. I follow the authors blogs and believe he is sending our leaders a message in this book. I attended a seminar he hosted a few years ago and found him to be very personable, intelligent and well-informed. I highly recommend this book as a real page-turner and politically provocative.

Couldn’t stop listening!

Great characters, good cross between truth and fiction, and action packed. The narrator was fantastic!

Speechless at the rave reviews of this book!

A number of reviewers claimed they couldn't stop listening, it was an effort for me to continue listening! This is one of the most sophomoric stories I have listened to in a long time, it plodded, went places other writers have gone many times and was just boring. Don't even get me started on the ending, it was if he ended the book halfway through the story and just left you hanging and no it's not a case of letting the reader use their imagination. This book was a complete waste of my time and money.

Always intriguing.

Joel writes as if it were his own experience. I have enjoyed all of his books. Now I’m waiting for the sequel to this one.

The book leaves one wanting more

Excellent excellent story and very much in line with current events. It ended with this reader wanting more but the stage is set for a sequel but that will be a year away. 😡

Good— — but...............

Great story line until the final few moments. I am a jet pilot and was really put off by the absolute impossibility of the conclusion of the story. In deference to any other readers, I won’t give up the details of the story, but it concludes almost embarrassingly after such a well written, well researched, well presented story.

story good, could have done without the religion

narrator was good, story was intriguing but i don't like the religious undertones in the book. "the savior" "did he have christ in his life". Not my cup of tea
