Publisher's summary

In this eagerly awaited follow-up to The Lion's Game, John Corey, former NYPD Homicide detective and special agent for the Anti-Terrorist Task Force, is back. And, unfortunately for Corey, so is Asad Khalil, the notorious Libyan terrorist otherwise known as "The Lion". Last we heard from him, Khali had claimed to be defecting to the US only to unleash the most horrific reign of terrorism ever to occur on American soil. While Corey and his partner, FBI agent Kate Mayfield, chased him across the country, Khalil methodically eliminated his victims one by one and then disappeared without a trace.

Now, years later, Khalil has returned to America to make good on his threats and take care of unfinished business. "The Lion" is a killing machine once again loose in America with a mission of revenge, and John Corey will stop at nothing to achieve his own goal - to find and kill Khahil.

John Corey At His Absolute Best!!!

This story was Awesome. An absolute great way to tie up loose ends from The Lion's Game. John Corey is such a great character. Many times I listen to my books while I'm at work and Corey's quick wit and sarcasm would just make me laugh out loud and cause my coworkers to look around at me like I was crazy. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. The narrator, Scott Brick, is totally awesome. I love his voice. Everything was just perfect in this book, all the way up to the big meeting between Corey and Khalil. That was great! But the story wasn't over after that. Not to spoil anything, but the ending was terrific. I hope to see John Corey again.

Another great John Corey book!

What made the experience of listening to The Lion the most enjoyable?

Scott Brick

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes.....You never knew when Kaliel was going to strike or how

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Scott Brick is THE VOICE of John Corey

Any additional comments?

I'm reading them all in order and this is the best one so far......Only the Panther left

Great sequel. Looking forward to the trilogy. Scott Brick was better int the first book but still one of my favorite readers.

The Lion

For starters, I really have enjoyed all of DeMille's books. He is an excellent author. The John Corey series books are very good. The Lion was a good book. It was a continuation, trying to catch the terrorist, so nothing really new here, but it was entertaining.

Narrator ruined this one....

I have no idea why he changed Corey's cadence and tone from the earlier books, to sound so over the top, drawn out, snarky. But it's terrible and makes this almost unlistenable.
only thing that got me through is switching the speed to 1.20
Good luck.

What happened to Scott Brick?!!

Scott Brick has been a long time favorite narrator of mine. I relistened to The Lion's Game before listening to The Lion. Scott is fabulous in the first but I didn't even recognize him in the second! He sounds like Howard Cosell!! Scott, please go back to your regular John Corey voice if there is another in the series!

Part II is never as good as the original but...

Its not the lions game, GREAT BOOK! But this one was not bad. Corey was his sarcastic self, a much better book than the last Corey story. Still Night Flight and Lions Game are 5 star Masterpieces, this is one is enjoyable at 4. For those fans that put it at 1 star, please rething your ratings, there are a lot of books that are trash, this book is not close to trash. And as usual a great read by Scott Brick. ! Enjoy!
