Publisher's Summary

When she was only 16, Cassidy Buchanan fell for the 19-year-old bad boy in town, Brig McKenzie, who'd had his share of run-ins with both the law and the local women. Then a terrible fire killed Cassidy's sister, and Brig, the chief suspect, was forced to run away. Seventeen years later, an eerily similar fire seriously injures Cassidy's husband, Chase, who happens to be Brig's brother. With the earlier fire still an open case, suspicion turns to Cassidy, the only unharmed person connected to both tragedies.

Skip it

Normally Lisa Jackson would be a sure bet, but this book just dragged on and on. Plot development was too slow and the story just got tedious.

bodice-ripper, not a mystery

There outta be a 'truth in genre' warning on this thing -- somewhere it should be disclosed that this is a romance, of the harlequin variety, so that those who like romances can find it. And those of us who don't, won't be misled. If I have to hear the sweet young narrator describe someone's "brrrrrrEASTS" one more time, I'm gonna howl. Where's the blood and death I thought I was getting? <g>

Final Scream

I found this book tedious. Took forever to wade through to the interesting parts. Can't recommend this one.

Lisa Jackson always surprises me with her plots. Enjoyed listing. Listen in the car. Made my trip much better.

GOOD PLOT

Overall I think the story had a good plot. There is alot of repeating sentences, it made me think I had hit the button that backs up the book. Editing could use some work. I enjoyed the narrator.

Unnecessary child sex scene

I usually love Lisa Jackson's books. However this book had multiple sex scenes(very descriptive) with 14 and 16 year olds. Disgusting. I understand if she was going for a certain character but there was no reason to go into detail with children.

Love this story!

I've read or listened to this story three different times over the years and it has always been one of my favorites. Lisa Jackson's best book in my opinion!

Story great...production sloppy

Would you consider the audio edition of Final Scream to be better than the print version?

No

Any additional comments?

I love Lisa Jackson, but the production of this book drove me to distraction. Some of the reading ended abruptly only to start the next scene immediately with hardly a breath between sentences. I had to rewind and re-listen to it thinking that the recording skipped. I had to do this several times. Then at other parts of the book, there was so much dead air that I thought I hit stop by mistake. This really made listening to this book difficult. I wish I would have read the book instead of listening to it.
