Publisher's summary

Nothing is ever what it seems-including me.

The Midwest Pack has three goals: Protect the pack. Protect the pack. And yeah, protect the pack.

I have my own goal: Live a simple life and hope no one ever discovers that the quiet young woman next door turns into a wolf.

All my efforts go up in flames when a vampire attack draws the attention of the Midwest Pack. The next thing I know, I'm staring down Ethan, a handsome and alluring alpha, as he demands to know what I am. Not who. What. The pack was warned that I'm not just a werewolf but a weapon-one that could be used against them.

A weapon? Me? I'd love to dismiss it as a case of mistaken identity, but I've become the supernaturals' Most Wanted overnight. The vampires have put a bounty on my head. A necromancer attempts to kill me in a room full of people. And a mysterious witch is watching me far too closely for comfort.

The only thing standing between me and certain death is the pack, but we're definitely not on the same page. I want to lie low, go back to my typical life, and live to fight another day, while their MO is "seek, confront, and destroy."

And depending on the answers we find, the enemy they destroy...might be me.

Slow Read and Bad Edit

There are times where it sounds like the narrator has a bad cold or she is talking with the mic so close to her face her lips are on it, and all this can happen in a single sentence.

Thank goodness for the ability to speed up the play back because otherwise I would have forgotten the start of the sentence before reaching the end.

Great read

A good series, I couldn't wait to get to the next one. Before finishing the first, I bought all. The narrator was terrific. It really held my interest.

Impressive Debut

There are several reasons I was impressed with this book. I will list a few.
1. Jorjeana Marie's portrayal of Skylar brought to life her vulnerable state in very difficult circumstances. This allowed me to not get angry at the character when she behaved impulsively.
2. The world created by McKenzie Hunter is realistic and very well developed.
3. The supporting characters are just well developed and interesting as the main characters. I would like to know more about Winter, Joan and Steven. The entire cast is great.
4. The story has lots of action with several plot twists that make it difficult to stop listening.

I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to the next one.

May be picky...

I may be picky, but it just sounds like the narrator was not feeling well when this story was being read. There are also too many places that her voice softens, almost accidentally because it only happens for a few seconds and then changes back. I do love the story though. I don't know if it is the narrator or what, but it took me a good chapter to get into it.

Wow couldn't put it down

I give this a five star highly recommended rating.
Skylar has a past which she never wanted to understand, she has a present life which is about to change dramatically.
To say her life starts with her death thrusts this story forwards and suddenly you find yourself mid-book, so enthralled and immersed into the story that you can't put the book down.
I loved this story...it was so driven by action and story together that I felt I was picked up on some magical ride, bumped around as the story grew and carefully deposited at the end craving another ride...utterly amazing!
