A tense and entertaining new thriller

After experiencing a great personal loss connected to his job Ben Forrester and his daughter try and pick up the pieces and start a new life. As he struggles to keep things going for him and his daughter a new threat sucks him into a new investigation that soon connects very close to home again. There is a great number of character connections forged in the early stages that really make some of the later scenes in the book pack a bigger punch. The book mounts slowly, but once things get rolling it is an exciting book all the way to the end. The characters shine and the action keeps you engaged, in what is a great first book in a new series from Jon Mills.

Familiar plot of FBI agent rescuing daughter

Clear, unproblematic narration.

There are available more interesting crime novels.

This one is not bad. It just isn’t very good.

Average

Decidedly average and predictable. But worth it if it’s on a daily sale or a 2 for 1

Good Book

It was a good book, good narration, the voice actor was great. I could see this done as an episode of Criminal Minds or something like that

Why all the bad reviews?!

I have no idea why there are so many bad reviews. I really liked it. The story was good and kept me interesting, the narrator did not disappoint either. Don't listen to the other reviews, give it a try.

Interesting twist

This book was a good read..rather predictable in many ways, but a twist towards the end I didn't predict. However, based on serial killer typical behavior, the twist is not really believable.
There were a couple of drawn out scenes, but don't want to give anything away.
Overall, a good book to pick up if you like a murder mystery.

Good story

I liked this book, even though it was a little predictable. It was a good book to listen to as I drive. I gave it 4 stars as I am not fond of stories that lead into another book.
