Publisher's Summary

Number one New York Times best-selling author Christine Feehan cuts straight to the heart of a man who stalks the shadows in an intoxicating Leopard novel.

Though born into a leopard's lair in the bayou, Joshua Tregre's fighting skills were honed in the rainforests of Borneo. Sleek and deadly, he's the perfect man to take over a crime syndicate back home in Louisiana's lush swamplands. His razor sharp instincts give him an edge in the violent underworld he knows so well, but even the watchful leopard inside him isn't prepared for the danger that comes from the girl next door.

She is a woman who can create beauty out of thin air - and out of the ruins of her own life. The games that dangerous men play have taken their toll on her, but she is bent, not broken. And it's her fierce spirit that's like a lure to Joshua, a temptation he can't resist - even if it means bringing his true nature into the light.

Leopard Erotica

I've read and or listened to this entire series and the last 2-3 books have less story line and more sex than the original 4 or 5. Its done well for what it is, but I miss the good stories of rescues and the camaraderie among the leopards. Also, in the first few books, the last name of Joshua (central in this book) was Tregre (prounounced Tre-gray) by the reader - the last two books they called him Joshua Trage...........lack of continuity on the name pronunciation - little things like that bother me. In the prior books the women were strong - both in mind and body - have to be to survive the males - the female in this one was less so in lots of ways. Love the Leopard series but would like more meat in the story along with the erotica.

STORY REPETATIVE!!

I finished the book late Tuesday night 10/24/17 release day but I needed time to think about what I felt about Joshua and Sonia's story. Well guess what I am still not sure. The reason I did decide on 3 stars is the story is repetitive and I don't need that many sex scenes to make a story hot, sensual and sexy. I don't like it when authors repeat the same lines and scenes in a story over and over. I get it the first time. I think this occurs to lengthen the word count. Leopard's Blood would have made a much better Novella/Short Story. But the storylines we do get are very good fast paced, lots of action and some pretty hot sex scenes. Great believable chemistry between Joshua and Sonia. Too Many Sex Scenes but they were well done. So you see I was very tossed up in the air about this story and will re read it. But for now 3 Stars.

Joshua and Sonia Are Well Matched—Hot Sex!

Joshua and Sonia are leopards. We know of Joshua from earlier stories, where he was a body guard for Jake and Emma. I love how these stories are independent of the earlier books but still tie in with just the mention of the names of other leopards. In this one we get a rundown of each male and his mate in case we forgot. how could we forget Theodore and Evangeline? Anyway, back to Joshua and Sonia. this book like the others grabs you right from the first line. It is amazing that in Book 10, Christine Feehlan still is able to grab the readers. Wow! We are in the swamps of Louisiana and Sonia is running from the Russian mob. Little does she know that she is running right into the hands of Joshua, who has taken over the territory of another mobster. The leopard sex that opens the book is intense and you just know it won’t end there. fortunately, it doesn’t and there are several episodes with no sex but this book is not for those who don’t like explicit sex scenes. Anyone who knows these books, knows that the sex is not and intense. Joshua is no exception. He and Sonia are well suited. I found myself wishing that Sonia would quit second guessing her choices of men...couldn’t she see that Joshua is different from Sasha, the son of the Russian who tried to kill her? Apparently, she did see the difference but still worried. Happy to say that she finally got her life together. The narrator is perfect. He is the same one who narrated Book 9. Jim Frangione.

Leopard’s Blood adds depth to the whole series!

I like the characters in this story. I like the connections that are mentioned to past characters. If you can get past the first part of this book that is solely sex, then the story develops. Feehan got in a bit of a rut for awhile with her sex scenes, as if that were the whole story, but it seems she is working her way out of that.

Too repetitive. I know from the first chapter.

I know from the first chapter she has an abusive homicidal husband. Don't need to be told it up chapters!!! Even the abridged version is way, way , way to repetitive... PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!

The subtleties have changed!

I find it interesting that CF has changed some important nuisances of the Leopard mating, as the series has progressed. For example, earlier in the series, the mates has moments of de ja vu that were supposed to be memories of their previous lives together. They are supposed to find their same mates each time they are reincarnated. This was stressed in the early books and now it isn’t even mentioned. There are other “traditions “ or instincts that were part of Leopard traditions that she has continued; I wonder why? There are other inconsistencies also. For example, previously mates wore wedding rings on their fingers and there was no mention with an issue of shifting with their rings on. Now, the Heroine has to wear her ring on a chain around her neck so she can shift. I always notice inconsistencies like this and it takes away, from the series, in my opinion.
Other than these issues, I enjoyed the book. I did find the Heroine’s perception of her past compared to the realties, a bit over the top, but hey, this is fiction.
As always, the narration by Jim Frangione was superb; he is one of my favorites.
Overall, I feel like it is a credit worthy listen.

When will the bloody thing end?

I love Christine Feehan’s books. She has a unique style and the characters are always so well developed that they jump off the pages. This book was one of her worst. It has taken me MONTHS to finish the book when I normally finish within a day or two. I never connected with the characters and the story was hopping all over the place bringing in characters from other books with no back story and no lead in. I was delighted when the book was finished and I could return it.

Worst yet

This has to be the worst one yet in this series. I'm open minded but even I was taken aback with both foul language and the bdsm nature to the sex scenes. There is being alpha male then there is outright dominance. This was pure dominance.

Returned didn't even get half way through!

CRAP BULLSHIT STORY

This goes on and on and nothing happens. Listened to 20 mins here and there and it's some frustrated writer equating love with a big cat. The performance is a Donald Duck one tone and the listener had no idea who or what is happening. God, I wish I had less patience to quit at Chapter 3.
