Publisher's Summary

It seemed only yesterday that the skinny, freckled redhead had first come to Prince Edward Island. Now here was Anne, a pretty sixteen, teaching at the Avonlea school and all grown up. Well, not quite grown up. In fact, Anne was not very different from her restless young pupils, their rows of bright, inquisitive eyes staring at her that first day of class. Anne was as mischievous and high-spirited as ever.

A Fan of the Anne of Green Gables Series

I am a fan of L.M. Montgomery and the Anne of Green Gables series, as well as Megan Follows - the actress who played Anne Shirley in the TV versions. She reads with the same relish and talent that appeared in the television shows. Since its original release, I have listened to this audiobook again and again. This and the others of the series have been a delight that I have shared with many and I hope that you too will enjoy...

Great Narrator...Poor Quality Recording

This is a great novel and a great narrator. If you've seen the tv movie, "Anne of Green Gables" you'll recongize the voice of Anne. However, the quality of the recording is very poor. You do get used to it, but it is distracting.

Sweet story

Never read the Anne of Green Gables series before, but LOVED the movies as a child. The books are, of course, even better! The narrator could have used a little more variety in her voices to help communicate who was speaking, but she was pleasant to listen to. Of course LM Montgomery is a gifted author! And Anne is a delightful character! My daughter, age 8, and I enjoyed our car trip so much as we listened.

Love the narrator

The narrator being Megan Follows was great. I tried sampling several before I found her voice and very much appreciated it. The only thing I would change was the music that would come in occasionally. It would highlight something or maybe indicated a chapter change--but it was never a very good match and was hard to hear the words through it the few seconds it played.

Silly music throughout

The story is as expected, but there is periodic atmospheric music that I could certainly do without.

Good

Not the same good feel as Anne of Green Gables but still fun and sweet to listen to. Disappointed that Rachel McAdams didn't read the whole series but Megan was a good substitute and fit the character well.

Magical!

I loved it ever so much! Once again, Megan Follows has brought the story to life with her wonderful enticing way of telling stories. the special parts, where music is played in the background, helps whisk you away even further into Anne's world.

I had no idea this was so short...

I love this series...I forgot this book was so short. I kinda wish the music wasn't added.
