First published in 1912, Daddy-Long-Legs is an epistolary novel that follows orphan Jerusha "Judy" Abbott through her college years through a series of letters written to her anonymous benefactor, whom she nicknames "Daddy-Long-Legs." As Judy learns to navigate the complex world of studies, social life, and romance, her letters convey her growth and address the increasingly complex questions that preoccupy her. A classic coming-of-age story featuring a clever, engaging, and altogether realistic heroine, Daddy-Long-Legs has been a beloved tale since its publication and continues to delight its audiences.

The plot line is original and interesting. There was little angst, and i enjoyed how the main character, a young woman, held her ground with her benefactor, a man, the times it was necessary. This showed strength of character.
I loved the hea.
A classic

This story is mainly letters. An orphan girl is given a scholarship to attend college. The only requirement is that she write to Mr. John Smith once a month so he can judge her learning.
It is a marvelous story that is uplifting to hear as this young hard working young lady learns and discovers a world that would never been available to her if things had gone differently.
There is a smidgen of romance, but nothing overt.
It is important to note the story takes place in the early 1900's, Women were not allowed to vote.
Very Happy Story

If you could sum up Daddy-Long-Legs in three words, what would they be?
Witty, clean, and a bit predictable. What other book might you compare Daddy-Long-Legs to and why?
"The guernsey literary and potato peel pie society" because it is also witty and in letter form.Which scene was your favorite?
I liked Judy's views on life especially when she says "Most people don't live; they race"Entertaining and witty
